The Annie car kill is the first of six challenges in Chapter 4, The Babysitters, of Halloween: The Game. Unlike most executions, you cannot trigger it wherever you catch her. Annie has to reach her car on her own, and Michael has to already be waiting inside it. Completing the challenge unlocks a cosmetic for multiplayer and helps you match the events of the 1978 film.
Quick answer: Let Annie finish her routine, wait until she steps back into the house before getting in her car, then select Hide Inside the vehicle in the driveway. When she sits down and closes the driver’s door, Michael strangles her automatically.

The scene order you must let play out
The challenge fails if you grab Annie early. She needs time to move through her scripted routine, and the useful moment only appears at the very end of it. Head to the Wallace House first, then let each beat below complete before you act.
| Stage | What Annie does |
|---|---|
| Arrival | A cutscene plays with Annie on the phone while Michael watches from outside. The “Kill Annie” objective appears. |
| Laundry | She goes outside to the detached laundry room in the backyard, then the phone rings. |
| Drop-off | She crosses the street with the child she is babysitting to leave her with friends, then walks back. |
| The car | She heads toward the car, but goes back inside through the front door before getting in. |
Note: the Wallace family dog patrols outside and will bark at and attack you. Watch your footing so it does not alert Annie and send her running.
How to trigger the car kill

How to confirm it worked
After the door closes, Michael appears outside the car in the driveway with Annie’s body already in his grip. The challenge registers as complete at that point. From here, carry her upstairs into the house as the objective asks, since her placement matters for the later Laurie sequence, then move on to Bob and Lynda.

Why the challenge does not trigger
- You grabbed Annie before she reached the car. Killing her in the hallway or backyard removes the car condition entirely, and it cannot be recovered in that run.
- You hid in the car too early. Getting in before she returns to the house leaves Michael waiting through an uncertain part of her routine.
- You entered the car after she had already moved past it, missing the clean window when she is about to get in.
- The dog spotted you and alerted Annie, causing her to flee instead of returning to the driver’s seat.
If the car window has already passed, the fastest fix is to replay Chapter 4 and wait for Annie’s car routine again rather than trying to salvage the attempt. Any challenges you already completed, such as the Bob and Lynda kills, stay done, so you only need to line up the scene you missed.
