Hellhole drops you into a collapsing world where the surface is gone and the only exit leads straight down. You fall into the shaft, fight through waves of enemies, break open loot, stack upgrades, and try to push farther on every attempt. It is a PvE shooter built around one blunt loop: go deeper, die, and run it back. Here is how to work that loop from your first drop.
Quick answer: Drop into the shaft, shoot the horde with Click (or R2 on a controller), reload with R (X on controller), sprint with Shift (L3), open loot crates between fights, and spend what you collect on upgrades before descending to the next floor. Solo runs save, so you keep your progress.

Controls for PC and controller
Before your first descent, lock down the inputs. The scheme is short and covers both PC and controller, so combat comes down to shooting, reloading, and sprinting between packs of enemies.
| Action | PC | Controller |
|---|---|---|
| Shoot | Click | R2 |
| Sprint | Shift | L3 |
| Reload | R | X |
| Unlock mouse | Ctrl | — |
On PC, use Ctrl to free the cursor when you need to click menus and upgrade panels between fights. That is the only input that does not map directly to combat.

Loot, upgrades, and the in-game economy
Loot fuels everything. Cracking open crates rewards you with the materials and currency that feed the upgrade system, and the game’s economy runs on gears and coins. Spend them on weapon enhancements and perks that raise your odds on the next floor.
Prioritize upgrades that keep you alive and firing. Because difficulty scales as you descend, holding onto currency without spending it just leaves you underpowered for the floors ahead. Invest between runs so each drop starts stronger than the one before.
Bosses and the First Blood badge
Killing your first boss unlocks the First Blood badge, and it is one nearly everyone earns early. Bosses cap off deeper floors, so learn their patterns and enter each fight with a full clip and your survival upgrades in place.
The Trust Issues badge is a rarer marker of progress that fewer players hold, which points to how much harder the run gets past those first boss encounters. Treat both as checkpoints that confirm your build is keeping pace with the depths.

Saving, servers, and the alpha state
Solo games save, so a run you play on your own keeps its progress. That makes solo the safest way to grind currency and lock in upgrades without losing ground. Servers hold up to 50 players.
Hellhole is still marked ALPHA by developer Game Chefs, and bugs are expected during this stage. If something behaves oddly mid-run, that is the state of the game rather than a mistake on your end. You can jump in from the official Roblox page.
A new update is on the way, with the next one set for Saturday, July 25 at 6:00 PM in the game’s event listing. Because the game is in active alpha, expect the enemy roster, upgrade options, and floor layouts to keep shifting, so revisit your build after each patch and keep grinding the same core loop: drop, clear, loot, upgrade, and run it back.
