In Aniimo, the optional Helmut’s Island Adventure begins when two wandering Helmuts appear and concludes at a remote island containing a concealed ruin, mural, and treasure chest. Access requires being in the correct location during a different quest, while the final sealed gate opens only after solving a brief circuit puzzle.
Quick answer: Unlock it while doing the Ancient Sacred Fragrance quest by following the two wild Helmuts to Sorora in Russet Highlands, then track the Dragon Legends I clue and Twine into a Helmut at the marker to be carried to the island.

What you need before starting
Be working through the Ancient Sacred Fragrance quest, which sends you to Russet Highlands.
Have a captured Helmut in your party so you can Twine into its form.
Know how to use Helmut’s Detection skill, which reveals metal objects and cloaked Aniimo nearby.
If you do not already have a Helmut, you can catch a wild one in the grassy areas of Russet Highlands near Berylline Vale before heading to the cliff.
During Ancient Sacred Fragrance, travel toward the objective marker in Russet Highlands. Before you reach it, you will spot a Playful Helmut and a Romping Helmut chatting and then running off.
Stay with the two Helmuts as they take you to Sorora, who is painting near a cliff. Speaking with Sorora reveals multiple clues; one of them is Dragon Legends I, the thread connected to this island quest.
At the spot, Twine into a Helmut. A Scar-faced Helgon swoops in, grabs you, and flies out over the ocean to drop you on an isolated island. On the beach it explains that it wants you to play with its child.
Follow the path from the beach toward the ancient ruins and talk to the little Jawling, who mistakes you for a toy. It wants to find a treasure it believes is beyond the sealed gate.
Solve the Iron Crate puzzle to open the gate
The gate is locked behind a two Iron Crate puzzle. Two levers sit outside the gate, and each lever raises one crate. Your job is to stop both crates at the height where they close the circuit and light up the green lines.
Use Helmut’s Detection skill to see exactly where each crate sits, since the metal is easier to read with that vision active. Line both crates up so the circuit completes, and the gate opens.

Detection has a short 2-second cooldown, so you can re-check the crate positions often while adjusting the levers.
Walk through the open gate with the Jawling. Inside the mural chamber, watch the scenes and inspect the glowing dragon-and-Helmut painting on the back wall, then talk to the Jawling about the old friendship between Helgons and Helmuts.
Leave the gate area and approach the Scar-faced Helgon; a treasure chest is now beside it. Talk to the Helgon, watch The Most Precious Treasure cutscene, then open the chest.

You know the quest is done when the final cutscene finishes, the chest rewards drop, and the Jawling is unlocked for you.
