Hollow Knight in Fortnite: Release Date and Cosmetics

The Fortnitemares 2026 crossover adds The Knight as a Sidekick, along with a pickaxe and Back Bling in the Item Shop.

The Fortnitemares 2026 crossover adds The Knight as a Sidekick, along with a pickaxe and Back Bling in the Item Shop.

The Knight has crossed over from Team Cherry’s metroidvania into Fortnite as part of Fortnitemares 2026. Rather than a full outfit, the collab brings The Knight in as a Sidekick, paired with a pickaxe, Back Bling, and an interactive emote that drops straight into the game’s Item Shop.

Quick answer: The Hollow Knight collab went live with the Item Shop rotation on October 7, 2026 at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET. Open the Item Shop in Fortnite to buy The Knight Sidekick and the matching cosmetics now.

Hollow Knight Fortnite release times by region

The cosmetics arrived with a standard Item Shop refresh, so everyone unlocked access at the same moment worldwide. Because of time zones, some regions saw the shop update land on October 8 on their local clocks.

Every Hollow Knight cosmetic in the Fortnite collab

There is no playable skin in this set. The headline item is The Knight as a Sidekick, a smaller companion that follows you and reacts to the world without spotting enemies or loot. Two more Gaming Legends Series items round out the collab.

  • The Knight (Sidekick) — the companion itself, with unlockable extras tied to it.
  • Hallownest Grub (Back Bling) — a captured grub in a glass jar, flavored “Save them for the Grubfather.”
  • The Knight’s Nail (Pickaxe) — with two selectable styles, The Knight’s Nail and Pure Nail.

Sidekick rewards unlocked with Sidekick Points

Equipping The Knight earns Sidekick Points in compatible Fortnite experiences, which you spend to unlock a small reward track. You can track progress in the Quest tab. The four rewards are:

  • Banner Icon — A silhouette of The Knight’s head.
  • Hollow Knight’s Heart — a Reaction that works across Sidekicks.
  • The Knight (Shade Soul) — a dark void alternate Style for the Sidekick.
  • Knight’s Bench — an Emote that seats you on an ornate bench beside The Knight.

The Knight’s Bench emote is limited to the player who owns the Sidekick, and most of these rewards only function with this specific Sidekick. The Hollow Knight’s Heart reaction is the exception, since reactions carry over to other Sidekicks.

Hollow Knight Fortnite bundle and V-Bucks pricing

You can buy The Knight on its own or grab the full set in a discounted bundle. Epic Games has not confirmed the final numbers, so treat the figures below as estimates based on how similar items are usually priced.

ItemEstimated price
The Knight (Sidekick)1,500 V-Bucks
Hallownest Grub (Back Bling)400 V-Bucks
The Knight’s Nail (Pickaxe)800 V-Bucks
Full bundle (estimated)~1,600–2,200 V-Bucks

Buying each piece separately would add up to around 2,700 V-Bucks, so the bundle should land well below that total. Sidekicks on their own typically sell for 1,500 V-Bucks, which is why bundle estimates sit a little higher given The Knight is the centerpiece of the set.

These prices are estimates until Epic Games lists the exact V-Bucks cost in the Item Shop. Check the in-game store for the confirmed figure before you purchase.

How to confirm the collab is available to you

Open the Item Shop in the Fortnite lobby and look for the Hollow Knight listing. If The Knight Sidekick, The Knight’s Nail pickaxe, and the Hallownest Grub Back Bling appear as buyable entries, the collab is live on your account. If they are not showing yet, restart the client so the shop rotation refreshes, since the drop was tied to the standard Item Shop update at 5 PM PT.

The collab is limited in scope, so there are no new map changes attached to it in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4. Everything tied to The Knight lives in cosmetics and the Sidekick reward track, which means the Item Shop is the only place you need to go to pick it up.
