The new 12-player deathmatch hands each duo an Infinity Stone and launches alongside Season 10.5.

Marvel Rivals is adding a fast 2v2 combat mode built around the clash for the Infinity Stones. Path to Doomsday — Avengers: Infinity War drops twelve players into six two-person teams that fight a series of round-robin deathmatches, with each duo carrying one of the six Stones into battle. It arrives as part of the Season 10.5 mid-season update.

Quick answer: It is a 2v2 deathmatch for 12 players split into six duos. Each team starts with one Infinity Stone, loses health on a round loss, and the last surviving pair wins. It goes live on October 9, 2026, at 9:00 AM UTC.

How an Infinity War match plays out

Twelve players enter and are divided into six teams of two. Those duos face each other in 2v2 fights on the fields of Wakanda, running through a round-robin bracket until one pair is left standing.

Each team has a shared pool of health across the whole run. Losing a round drains that health rather than ending your match outright. A duo is knocked out once its total health reaches zero, so you can survive several defeats before elimination.

At the start, each team receives a random Infinity Stone, which provides its own ability with a cooldown. Win a round against another team to claim its Stone; a strong duo can build up several Stone powers over the course of the match.

Infinity Stone effects

Each of the six Stones works like a team-up ability, with a base effect and a stronger enhanced version. A few have been shown off directly, while others have not had their full powers detailed yet.

StoneWhat it does
Reality StoneMarks an area so that, after a short delay, enemy attacks inside are turned into bubbles. The enhanced version transforms the enemies themselves.
Time StoneRewinds time for a short period, reversing attacks and damage you took.
Space StoneProjects large spherical barriers and fires energy beams through its Space Unrestrained effect.
Soul StoneSacrifice half your maximum health to fully heal your teammate, keeping at least 1 health yourself.
Mind StoneNot yet detailed.
Power StoneNot yet detailed.

The exact numbers and full enhanced effects for every Stone have not all been confirmed, so some abilities may read differently once the mode is live.

Upgrade cards between rounds

Between rounds you draft random upgrade cards, in the same way as the Blood Hunt mode. These cards change your abilities and stats, letting you build out a specific playstyle for your chosen hero as the run continues.

The trailer shows a wide spread of these perks, from offensive and defensive options to high-risk picks. Examples include Blitzing Rend and Vibranium Quake for Black Panther, Homing Shield and Rapid Ricochet for Captain America, and shared survival cards such as Final Surge, Last One Standing, and Glass Cannon. Because you draft fresh cards each round, your build shifts over the course of a single match.

How to win and confirm it

Your goal is to be the final duo with health remaining. Win rounds to drain other teams toward elimination and to steal their Stones, while protecting your own shared health pool from running out.

When your pair is the last one left, a yellow VICTORY banner fills the screen before the match closes out. That banner is the signal the run is over, and your duo has taken the win.

The mode is the Infinity War step of the ongoing Path to Doomsday event, and the Mad Titan himself appears in a teaser at the end of the trailer, raising the Infinity Gauntlet. It launches on October 9 across PlayStation, Xbox Series, and PC, and runs alongside the rest of the Season 10.5 content.
