Summon the Mythic Flame unit from the Standard or Mini Banner, then evolve it into its Betrayal form for zone-based burn damage.

Anime Expeditions introduced Ignition Commander, a Mythic-tier unit, in the September 25, 2026 Endless Hellflame update (3.0). A Flame-element Magical archetype attacker based on Leonard Burns, captain of Special Fire Force Company 1, it builds heat on foes and uses burn damage to punish them. You can evolve the base unit into its more powerful Betrayal form.

Quick answer: Summon Ignition Commander from the Standard or Mini Banner, then evolve it in the Evolution area using a Commander Jacket, the required Sprites, and 10,000 Gold to unlock the Betrayal form.

How to summon Ignition Commander

Ignition Commander appears as a featured Mythic on two banners. You obtain it by rerolling, and both banners share a Mythic pity of 400. The Mini Banner offers the best single-pull odds, while the Standard Banner splits its rate between the middle and side slots.

BannerSlotChancePity
StandardMiddle0.125% (1/800)400
StandardSide0.0625% (1/1600)400
MiniMiddle0.25% (1/400)400

How to evolve into Ignition Commander (Betrayal)

Pull the base Ignition Commander from the Standard or Mini Banner. The unit must be in your roster before any evolution materials matter.
Get the Commander Jacket. This Mythic-tier item drops from completing the quest The Smoldering Secret [Ignition Commander].
Collect the remaining Sprites and Gold listed below. You need all of them at once for the evolution to go through.
  • 1x Commander Jacket
  • 25x Sprite (Blue)
  • 25x Sprite (Purple)
  • 1x Sprite (Rainbow)
  • 10,000 Gold
Take the unit and materials to the Evolution area and confirm the evolution. When it works, the unit shows in your Units menu as Ignition Commander (Betrayal), a Mythic Flame and Magical attacker.

Best trait: Draconic and the Update 3.0 DoT buff

In Update 3.0, the Draconic trait’s damage-over-time bonus increased from 50% to 120%. Draconic is the strongest option for Ignition Commander, whose kit revolves entirely around burn and Heat Stacks.

Draconic combines +20% damage with +120% DoT damage and a 5% overall cost reduction. The discount brings the deployment price below its base value. Unbound is another viable choice, with +150% damage, a shorter attack interval, and a small range penalty; Draconic’s multiplier is generally better for a unit focused on burn.

Zone mechanics and passives

The range is divided into a pair of rings: the outer zone is outlined in yellow, while a red circle indicates the inner zone. Each ring causes enemies within it to behave differently.

Immovable

Foes within 60% of the unit’s range enter the Ignition Zone, gaining 1 Heat Stack each second up to a maximum of 10. Entering the inner 30% puts them in the Inferno Zone: they are Stunned for 2 seconds, then Rewound by 7 distance when the stun expires. This stun-and-rewind effect works only once on each enemy. On a return to the Inferno Zone, that foe gains 2 Heat Stacks per second instead. Rewinding an enemy beyond the unit’s range leaves its existing stacks intact.

Human Furnace

Human Furnace makes Heat Stacks increase the unit’s damage against their target by 3% apiece; at 10 stacks, that amounts to 30% extra damage. Reaching 10 stacks also sets the enemy on Fire.

Ignition Release

Ignition Release provides the burst damage. Whenever Immovable causes a Rewind, Betrayal form hits all enemies in the Ignition Zone for 75% damage; this effect has a 15-second cooldown. Against an enemy already at maximum Heat Stacks, the burst gains another 15% damage. Ignis Restraint equipment also has the Ignition Release passive.

Attacks and upgrade stats (Betrayal)

The unit opens with Voltage Barrage, a Circle AoE that hits four times. At Upgrade 4 it swaps to Flame Fist, a Cone AoE (Size 40) that lands two hits, and at Upgrade 8 it changes again to Nova Cyclone, a single-hit Circle AoE (Size 10). The table below covers cost, damage, and range across every upgrade tier.

UpgradeCost (¥)DMGRNG

97,0004,63525
107,6005,15525.5
118,2005,60526

With 2-star Ascension, the unit receives two separate +1.04x damage bonuses, each added to its base stats.

Equipment options

Ignis Restraint is the exclusive fit because its passive matches the unit’s burst loop. Burning Critter extends the burn chain, and Shinigami Sword rewards packed lanes by scaling with the number of enemies in range.

EquipmentBonusesPassive
Ignis Restraint+7.93% DMG, +6.64% RNGIgnition Release
Burning Critter+8.65% RNGCritter
Shinigami Sword+7.84% Crit Chance, +4.68% DMGShinigami Sword

After the unit inflicts Burn, Critter boosts its next damage-over-time effect by 25%, pairing well with the burn from Heat Stacks. Shinigami Sword grants 0.9% extra damage for each enemy in range, up to 18%.

Deployment cost and placement

You can field up to 3 copies at once. Base placement costs ¥2,200, dropping to about ¥1,870 with the Draconic discount, and taking a single copy to max costs roughly ¥51,170 with that discount applied.

Because the zones overlap, spread your placements along a chokepoint so more enemies stay inside the Inferno ring, where the stun, rewind, and Ignition Release loop does the most work. Keep them in range long enough to cap Heat Stacks and the burn pressure handles the rest.
