Impetusium Square sits in the Altgard region of Aion 2, a ruined plaza in front of the Impetusium now crawling with Balaur of the Lagta Brigade. It is a level 44–45 field zone, and it packs three sets of collectibles into one area: a run of Empyrean Traces, the Warriors’ Rest sealed dungeon, and the Andsha Forward Base stronghold.

Quick answer: Impetusium Square holds 54 Empyrean Traces, the Warriors’ Rest sealed dungeon, and the Andsha Forward Base stronghold. Grab every glowing feather, clear the dungeon, and open the stronghold chest to finish the zone.

What counts toward Impetusium Square completion

Three things anchor this zone for collectors and dungeon runners. The Empyrean Traces are scattered across the plaza and the cliffs around it, the sealed dungeon is tucked into a cave to the east, and the stronghold sits in the northeast corner.

Collecting the Empyrean Traces

In the open world, each Empyrean Trace is a vivid red feather glowing motionless. Approach one to see the prompt Empyrean Trace: Altgard. Hold F to collect it and receive an Empyrean Trace: Altgard (Bound) token. These tokens resonate at the region’s Monolith and contribute to Altgard’s collection achievements.

Of the 54 traces in Impetusium Square, 46 are on the ground and 8 float in the air. The airborne ones need wings. You will glide between broken pillars and fly up onto crumbling columns, pediments, and isolated rock spires to reach several of them, so keep your flight gauge in mind before you leap.

Ground-level traces sit in the easy spots first: on grass ledges, tucked beside rock walls, wedged into canyon ditches, and resting on piles of rubble inside the ruined buildings. Clear these on foot as you sweep across the plaza.

The eastern edge of the square runs along coastline cliffs and rocky outcrops. Several traces hide on elevated cliff edges and on narrow shelves above the sea, and reaching the highest rocky peaks here means flying straight up.

The circular amphitheater structures hold the trickiest cluster. Traces perch on stone parapet ledges, inside the central ring framework, in recessed alcoves, on high broken pillar capitals, and along decorative trim ledges. Glide into the interior balconies and run up the central spine beams to reach the ones at the apex.

Inside the upper rotunda and arena hallways, look between the dark pillars. One trace sits mid-level inside the hollow central ring, so drop or glide into the framework rather than circling the rim.

The western and northern sections finish the run. Traces turn up on rooftops of square stone towers, wooden scaffolding platforms, balconies over the courtyard, rocky crags off the canyon walls, and the top of a tall freestanding stone obelisk. A handful more hide in recessed crevices along the north wall, on high lintel archways over the outer gate, and out on the eastern cliff side where a hidden cavern ledge holds the last one.

Each pickup pops an Acquired Empyrean Trace: Altgard (Bound) message. Track the count as you go so you know exactly how many remain before you move on to the dungeon.

Warriors’ Rest sealed dungeon: location and clear

Warriors’ Rest is the sealed dungeon for Impetusium Square, found in a glowing cave entrance east of the square. It carries a recommended level of 40 and is built for Asmodian players as part of their Altgard progression. Elyos players can reach it by teleporting to Altgard through Spacetime Rifts.

This lore centers on Zikel. The location is presented as a burial sanctuary for the Destruction Archons, who pledged themselves to the God of Destruction, and it reportedly contains relics associated with him.

Enter the cave and deal with the enemies guarding the Statues of Zikel’s Sword, marked by yellow triangles on the minimap. Destroy each sword to find the key, then open the Ruins Door to the next room.
Repeat the process in the second room. Clear the guards, break every sword, and pass through the next Ruins Door toward the end of the dungeon.
In the final room, defeat the remaining enemies on guard and interact with the pedestal to read Zikel of Destruction Vol. 3. This marks the sealed dungeon complete.

You know it worked when the Sealed Dungeon Complete screen appears, the achievement Darkness Within Darkness unlocks, and the title Safety First is added to your collection alongside the item rewards.

Title: Safety First1

The Safety First title is an Epic defensive title. Owning it grants an Evasion Bonus of 10, and equipping it adds Block 60 and Evasion Bonus 32.

Elyos players who clear it through the Spacetime Rift route receive 2,500 Enhancement Stones per completed run, but do not get the Wisdom Stones or Daevanion Crystals.

Andsha Forward Base stronghold

In the northeastern corner of Impetusium Square stands Andsha Forward Base, a Lagta Brigade outpost that backs efforts to break the Blood Barrier. Anyone approaching without authorization is attacked immediately.

Enter through the Andsha Forward Base Door. Inside the courtyard, destroy the Balaur supply repositories, then head to the inner sanctum and open the glowing red Treasure Chest to claim the completion rewards.

Opening the chest brings up the Completion Rewards screen, which confirms the stronghold is done. You receive 15,000 Kina, 2 Noble Belt Enhance Scrolls (Bound), and the title Fierce But Cool, which grants Critical Hit Resist +10.

With all 54 Empyrean Traces retrieved, Warriors’ Rest cleared, and the Andsha Forward Base chest opened, Impetusium Square’s collectibles are fully done, and your Altgard trace total climbs toward the region’s full set resonated at the Monolith.

Experience and Quest Rewards for Impetusium Square Exploration

Two of the zone’s collectibles are tied to Exploration quests that start automatically with an unlock level of 1, so they register for both Elyos and Asmodian characters without any NPC. Finishing them pays out experience on top of the item rewards.

The Darkness Within Darkness achievement belongs to the Sealed Dungeon group and is Common grade. It asks you to collect Zikel of Destruction Vol. 1-3 in Sealed Dungeons, and it pays out 1 Resurrection Spiritstone (Bound) and 5,000 Kina. Warriors’ Rest gives you Vol. 3, so the other two volumes come from other sealed dungeons.
