A blurry figure in the background of the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 trailer has set off talk of a Doom crossover. The season, Override, is stuffed with video game cameos already, and one of the shapes tucked behind the main cast looks a lot like the classic Doom Slayer.
Quick answer: Nothing is confirmed. A Doom Slayer-shaped figure appears in the Chapter 7 Season 4 trailer, but Epic Games has not announced a Doom collaboration, a skin, or a release date for this season.
What was spotted in the Chapter 7 Season 4 trailer
The trailer moves fast and packs the frame with recognizable characters. Mega Man and Crash Bandicoot sit up front, Raiden turns up in the background of one shot, a chunk of the map is styled after Green Hill Zone, and Spyro shows up in card form. Somewhere in that crowd, players picked out a silhouette that matches the original Doom protagonist.
The details people are pointing to are the classic green armor, the short-sleeved tactical top with the exposed midriff, and the blocky helmet shape. It is murky and out of focus, which is why this stayed a background curiosity rather than a reveal.

Collabs Epic has already confirmed for Override
The trailer itself confirms a run of gaming crossovers for the season, so a Doom appearance would not be out of place. Sonic the Hedgehog, Pac-Man, Crash Bandicoot, Persona, and Spyro are all part of the lineup. Season key art also features characters from older collaborations, including Geralt from The Witcher.
Fortnite seasons usually keep adding cosmetics after launch, so more crossover names surfacing during Override would follow the normal pattern rather than break it.
Why the existing Doom Slayer skin is locked
Doom has been in Fortnite before. The Doom Slayer outfit arrived on December 4th, 2022 with update v23.00, as part of the Chapter 4 Season 1 Battle Pass. It sat on Page 5 and cost 9 Battle Stars once the surrounding page items were bought.
That timing is the problem. The skin was released before Epic changed how Battle Pass exclusivity works, so it has never returned. It has never been sold in the Item Shop, and there is currently no way to obtain it if you missed that season. The same applies to other Battle Pass–only crossovers from that era, Geralt included.
A fresh Doom skin, if one arrives, would be a new item rather than a re-release of the old one.
Doom Slayer skin details from Chapter 4 Season 1
For reference, here is what the original outfit included and how each style was unlocked.

|---|---|
| Rarity | Gaming Legends Series |
| Set | Ultra-Nightmare (11 cosmetic items) |
| Source | Chapter 4 Season 1 Battle Pass, Page 5, 9 Battle Stars |
| Release date | December 4th, 2022 (v23.00) |
| Ember Armor style | Earn 10 account levels via Midseason Drops Quests |
| Phobos Armor style | Bonus Rewards Page 3, 20 Battle Stars |
| Astro Armor style | Battle Pass Page 6, 9 Battle Stars |

The Ultra-Nightmare set went beyond the outfit. It included the Mark of the Slayer back bling, the Crucible Blade pickaxe, the Cacodemon glider, the Praetor Shroud wrap, the Mini Slayer Fistbump emote, and the Rip & Tear (2016) music track. The outfit is supported in Battle Royale, Save the World, Creative, Festival, Racing, and Ballistic, but not LEGO Fortnite or Fall Guys.
How to confirm a Doom collab is real
Treat the trailer sighting as unconfirmed until one of two things happens. Either Epic Games publishes the collaboration through its own channels, or the cosmetics appear in-game, in the Item Shop or on a Battle Pass page, where you can see the price and unlock requirement for yourself.
Note: a character appearing in a Fortnite trailer background is not the same as a purchasable skin. Some cameos are environmental art or event set dressing and never become items.
Doom crossover chatter is not new either. Talk of Xbox and Bethesda characters heading to Fortnite circulated well before the 2022 skin landed, and it took a licensing gap of months before anything shipped. For now, the sensible read on the Override trailer is a strong hint and nothing more, with no official date attached to a Doom return.
