Find Jimbo at the Hangman’s Halter, win his dice game for 1,500 points, and pocket Balatro’s die and badge.

Patch 1.5.6 for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 arrived in late June 2026 as a free update marking 6 million copies sold, and it adds a single optional run-in with a jester named Jimbo. He stands in Kuttenberg as a nod to the deck-builder roguelike Balatro, and the whole thing is built around one game of dice rather than a marked side quest.

Quick answer: Go to the front of the Hangman’s Halter tavern in Kuttenberg, talk to Jimbo to receive Balatro’s die, then beat him at dice by reaching 1,500 points to earn the Tin Balatro’s Badge.

Note: despite what some chatter online suggests, this is not a new quest or task. It is an unmarked encounter, so nothing will appear in your quest log when you start it.

Where to find Jimbo in Kuttenberg

Jimbo waits in front of the Hangman’s Halter tavern, near the Kuttenberg town square. He presents himself as a spreader of joy who wants to introduce Bohemia to poker, which he calls “poque.” Walk up and start a conversation to begin.

Win the dice game to complete Jester’s Visit

Talk through Jimbo’s dialogue options. Hearing him out gives you more about who he is, and at the end he hands over Balatro’s die for you to use.
Start a game of dice with him. This is a standard farkle session, and the target score is 1,500 points. Use Balatro’s die during the game to bank scoring combinations more reliably.
Reach 1,500 points before he does. Winning the match rewards you with the Tin Balatro’s Badge, and Jimbo mentions that he will return at some point.

You know it worked when Jimbo gives you the badge after the match and notes that he will be back. That hands-over is the only confirmation, since there is no quest tracker tied to the encounter.

How to make Jimbo return

Jimbo reappears after 7 in-game days, so you will need to skip time to bring him back. The trigger is finicky, and he will not always be standing there when you return.

If he fails to spawn, fast travel to a different Kuttenberg point, then walk or ride back to the town square to force the area to reload. On his return you can play farkle again, but there are no extra rewards the second time around.

What Balatro’s die and the Tin Balatro’s Badge do

Both rewards change how dice plays out, and they echo the Devil’s Head die from the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The die gives you flexibility, while the badge gives you a one-off override.

Balatro’s dieWhen it lands on the joker’s grinning face, you decide how to count it. It can fill a straight or a triple. Counted on its own, it scores as a 1.
Tin Balatro’s BadgeOn a die showing a joke or devil’s head symbol, you can change the result to that symbol. Usable once per game.

Jimbo’s coat and marotte

Jimbo carries his own gear, namely Jimbo’s coat and Jimbo’s marotte. The marotte is a Heavy Blunt mace with poor stats, so it is more of a novelty piece than a practical weapon.

The Balatro side of the collaboration

Balatro regularly runs cosmetic crossovers, swapping its King, Queen, and Jack cards for free skins featuring characters from games such as Don’t Starve and Among Us. A matching Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 card set has not been added on the Balatro side, and the last Balatro patch landed on February 24, 2025. For now, Jimbo’s appearance in Kuttenberg is the whole of the crossover inside Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
