JoJo: Golden Spirit Reroll Tier List — Best SSR Targets for Launch

Every SSR ranked for the August 13 launch, plus the standout SR units worth keeping from your first pulls.

Every SSR ranked for the August 13 launch, plus the standout SR units worth keeping from your first pulls.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Spirit is a tactical auto-battler where you place characters and Stands from Parts 1 through 6 on a formation grid, and skill synergies, distance, and weather decide the fight. With the worldwide launch (excluding Japan) landing on August 13, 2026, the smart first move is knowing which SSR units are worth chasing before you commit your account. That is what the ranking below is for.

Quick answer: Reroll for Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli first. He is the strongest all-round SSR, dominant in AoE and PvP, and if you can add Bruno Bucciarati or F.F. to that opener, you have a top-tier start.

How this tier list was ranked

Placements weigh each unit’s peak role performance across single-target damage, AoE, PvP, and the tank, heal, and support columns, then adjust for reroll value. Rarity matters here because SSR units are the hardest to replace, and the gacha rate makes them your true reroll goal. A unit that only shines in one niche sits lower than one that carries multiple modes.

Freshness note: This reflects closed-beta (CBT2) balance as of August 2026, before the live build goes public. Full kits, stats, and fighting-style assignments become official at launch, so expect re-ranking once real day-one data lands.

These are the eleven SSR units you actually reroll for. Everything above C tier is a good stopping point.

Why the top picks land where they do

Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli (S)

Caesar is the cleanest reroll in the pool. He is a ranged carry with attack-speed buffs and bonus damage against vampire and zombie targets, and his kit tops both the AoE and PvP charts. Even when PvP takes away the vampire and zombie targets his Ult wants, the shared core still hands you a long Immobilize and a self-shield, so he controls fights instead of just deleting enemies. Ranged units also scale with distance, which fits his role perfectly.

Bruno Bucciarati (S)

Bruno is the PvP answer. He dispels enemy buffs and stuns, which flips fights against buff-stacked comps, and his single-target damage rates near the top after the latest combat pass. If your priority is arena play, he is the reroll to chase.

F.F. (S)

F.F. is a ranged single-target machine, sitting at the very top of the damage column. If you want a straightforward carry that reliably melts priority targets in PvE, this is your unit.

The A tier

Koichi Hirose is the best support debuffer available at launch, leaning on effects like attack down to soften whole enemy lines. Ermes Costello is a premier tank, stacking shields on herself and redistributing protection to allies. Diavolo opens battles from stealth for an ambush and grades well in both damage and PvP. Giorno Giovanna is an energy battery first and a healer second, pulsing energy to the whole team while topping off the linked carry, which is why he outperforms most B-tier support kits.

SR and R units worth keeping

You do not reroll specifically for these, but several lower-rarity units punch far above their tag and slot straight into a starter roster. Keep an eye on them once your account is built.

UnitRarityRole strength
Hol HorseSRTop single-target damage
N’DoulSRHigh single-target damage
Johngalli A.SRStrong ranged single-target
KenzouSRElite team support
SantvientoSRSelf-sustaining tank
Tonio TrussardiSRCleanse-heavy healer, PvP anchor
Joseph JoestarSRStrong support/buffer
Robert E. O. SpeedwagonSRReliable healer
PesciRSurprisingly strong PvP control

Because you also receive a free SR Joseph Joestar from the pre-registration rewards, your early support slot is partly covered before you even pull. That lets a reroll lean toward a damage SSR up top rather than a support unit.

Gacha rates and pity that shape your reroll

The pull rates decide how patient a reroll needs to be. SSR sits at a low base chance, so landing a specific top-tier unit on a fresh account takes several attempts, and the pity system is your safety net for a guaranteed result.

MechanicValue
SSR base rate2.00% (about 2.85% effective with pity)
SR rate35.00%
R rate63.00%
Random SSR pity60 pulls
Character selector pity180 pulls

The practical takeaway: a random SSR is reachable within a reasonable reroll window, but the exact unit you want is not guaranteed until the 180-pull selector. On a brand-new account, reroll until you hit a named S-tier unit rather than banking on the selector early.

A clean reroll target list

If you want a shortlist to aim for while rerolling, here is the priority order that came out of beta testing.

  • Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli — best overall opener, carries PvE and PvP.
  • Koichi Hirose — the strongest support debuffer to pair with any carry.
  • Ermes Costello — top-end tank that keeps your team alive early.
  • Bruno Bucciarati or F.F. — arena disruption or raw single-target damage as your second pick.

You will know a reroll is worth keeping when your opening account shows a named S-tier SSR plus at least one strong SR support or tank from the list above. Everything else can be filled in through normal play. Once the game goes live, kits and fighting styles become official, and these rankings will settle against real results. Until then, pre-register on the official Golden Spirit site so the rewards and account are ready the moment the servers open.
