Progress in Lawn Mowing Simulator comes down to one loop. You cut grass, sell it for money, then spend that money on a stronger mower and matching upgrades so the next lap earns more. Each mower tier raises how much grass you collect per cut, while upgrades control how much you can carry, how fast you move, and how wide your cutting area is.
Quick answer: Buy the next mower tier as soon as you can afford it, and keep your Bag, Speed, and Range upgrades at the same tier level as your mower. Bag levels are priced the same as the mower at that level, so matching them keeps your storage in step with your income.

How mower progression works
There are 78 numbered mower tiers, starting from the free Old Mower and running up through seven equipment families. Each family is stronger and more expensive than the last, and every tier inside a family adds more grass per cut. The families in order are Mowers, Blowers, Trimmers, Scythes, Snowblowers, Chainsaws, and Flamethrowers.
Costs use short-form notation. In this game, k means thousand, m means million, b means billion, and t means trillion. The “+Grass” figure is how much grass that tool adds per cut, which is the main driver of your income.

Note: The Cursed model at the end of each family is always the biggest jump in grass per cut, but its price is a large step up. Buying it right before moving into the next family gives you the most earning power for the money you save up.

Upgrades: Bag, Speed, and Range
Upgrades are stat boosts you buy with money, split into three categories. Each one levels up separately, and every category maxes out at level 78. Prices at each level line up with the mower of the same level, so the money that buys your next tool roughly covers the matching upgrade.
| Upgrade | What it does |
|---|---|
| Bag | Raises how much grass you can hold before you must sell at the market. An Infinite Bag is available for Robux for unlimited storage. |
| Speed | Increases your movement speed. It applies to your mower and only works while the mower is equipped. The 2x Speed Gamepass doubles player speed. |
| Range | Widens the mower’s cutting area, which is shaped as a square. |
Bag is the upgrade to prioritize alongside your mower. If your storage fills up faster than you can reach the market, you lose cutting time on trips back to sell. Keeping Bag in step with your grass-per-cut output means fewer sell runs and steadier income.

Bag storage by level
Level 1 starts with 132 grass storage for free. The table shows how storage capacity and price scale as you climb.
| Level | Storage | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 132 | FREE |
| 5 | 15.3K | $49.9K |
| 10 | 477K | $1.75M |
| 15 | 3.27M | $17M |
| 20 | 13.3M | $72.5M |
| 25 | 57.4M | $285M |
| 30 | 198M | $1.16B |
| 35 | 528M | $3.38B |
| 40 | 1.81B | $9.18B |
| 45 | 7.09B | $36.1B |
| 50 | 18.4B | $83.6B |
| 55 | 70B | $382B |
| 60 | 157B | $972B |
| 62 | 330B | $1.69T |

How to earn money faster
You will know an upgrade or purchase worked when the new mower appears as your equipped tool and your grass-per-cut jumps to the tier’s listed value, or when your bag holds the higher storage amount without forcing an early sell. From there the loop repeats, and each family you unlock multiplies your earnings by a wide margin over the one before it.
