League of Legends has been handing out free summoner icons tied to the Classic game mode, a Season 3-style throwback that brought back old-school champion portraits as unlockable rewards. Codes for these icons come and go quickly, so knowing which ones still work saves you from typing in a dead code.

Working League of Legends codes

There are no working League of Legends codes redeemable right now. The batch of Classic icon codes that Riot Games pushed out in recent weeks has run its course, and every code from that drop now returns an expired message on the redemption page. New codes tend to show up around Classic mode milestones and other in-game celebrations, so it’s worth checking back rather than assuming the well is dry for good.

How to redeem League of Legends codes

Redemption happens entirely on Riot’s website rather than inside the League of Legends client. Sign into the account you want the reward added to before you start, since the icon lands directly on whichever account is logged in.

Open Riot’s redemption page and make sure you’re signed into the correct League account.
Type or paste the code into the redeem box exactly as written, then click “redeem.”
Review the summary screen, which names the exact icon tied to the code, then confirm the order to finish the claim.

Once the confirmation goes through, the icon is added to your account immediately. You can check it landed by opening the summoner icon selection screen in the client, where the new icon will appear alongside the ones you already own.

Where new League of Legends codes come from

Riot doesn’t run codes on a fixed schedule. They tend to surface around Riot-hosted events, big in-client celebrations like the Classic mode launch, or partner promotions, and they can disappear again within days. Following Riot’s official social accounts is the most reliable way to catch a fresh code before it expires, since new drops usually get posted there first.

No official date for the next batch of League of Legends codes is currently confirmed. Check back here for updates once Riot posts something new.
