Update 2.1 landed in Legacy Piece on September 21, 2026 and brought two new specs with it: Chad and Queen of Hatred. The Queen of Hatred is the harder of the two to claim. It sits behind a long quest chain that starts with a broken phone in Ruin City, runs through bounties, fishing and crafting, and ends with repeated boss clears inside a dedicated dungeon.
Quick answer: Repair the Strange Phone with 100 Phone Components at Ruin City Island, finish every Heartline task, clear the Fallout Ward dungeon for its materials, then take the Magical Girl’s power from the Repair Technician.
What the Queen of Hatred quest line requires
The chain is gated at four separate points, and each gate needs a different activity. Before you start, know that you will be asked for all of the following:
- 100 Phone Components, dropped by NPCs anywhere in the game.
- 5 Legendary Bounties and 10 Mythic Bounties from the Quest Board.
- One Heartglow Butterflyfish, a mythical tier catch.
- A Pink Ribbon Charm or a Heartline Pendant.
- Three stacks of 10 dungeon materials plus the title The One Who Stayed.
Repair the Strange Phone at Ruin City Island
Finish the Heartline tasks: First Message and Getting to Know You
Equip the Strange Phone to open the Heartline interface. This is where the chat with the Magical Girl happens, and it is also where the rest of the quest line is tracked. Everything from here forward is listed under the Tasks tab.
A Day With a Friend: Grave Island and the Legacy Island scenic view
Reply in the Heartline chat once the item requirements are done. That response triggers the story quest A Day With a Friend and sets a meeting with the Queen of Hatred on Grave Island.
From there you escort her to Legacy Island. Walk up to the Scenic View – Legacy Island prompt and interact with it to play the cutscene. Skipping the interaction leaves the quest sitting still, so make sure the text prompt is actually triggered.
After the cutscene, the Heartline phone picks back up with more messages. You trade replies with the Magical Girl and with an unknown caller, and that exchange opens the final task.
Farm the Fallout Ward dungeon for A Memory Belonging to Us
The last task, A Memory Belonging to Us, is the longest part of the chain. It asks for four things:

Go back to the Repair Technician in Ruin City and enter the Queen of Hatred Fallout Ward dungeon through him. The boss inside is the Queen of Hatred herself, and a single clear will not cover the totals. Plan on several runs to build all three stacks.
Check your Tasks tab between runs rather than after every clear, since the three materials do not always drop evenly across a single fight.
Claim the spec and confirm the unlock
With every material counted off, talk to the Repair Technician one more time. His menu now offers the option to take the Magical Girl’s power, and selecting it grants the Queen of Hatred spec to your character.
You will know it worked because the spec appears on your character and its skills become usable right away. Head to a quiet spot such as Starter Island and try the basic attacks along with With Love Hyah, Arcana Beats and Reversed Beats. If those show up on your bar, the unlock is complete.
How the Hysteria passive works
The spec’s passive is called In the Name of Love and Hate. As you fight, a Hysteria meter fills, and once it peaks the spec takes over: your character starts attacking automatically and you lose direct control for the duration of the state.
The enhanced version of the kit adds Everlasting Love on top of the base skills, and the ultimate plays a full cinematic cutscene before firing a beam attack. Because the Hysteria window drives itself, positioning before the meter fills matters more than input timing during it.
Spec Enchant and gem sockets
Unlocking the spec is only the baseline. At the altar you can push Queen of Hatred to +10 Spec Enchant, and the sockets take a full set of Kami secret gems. The difference between the unenhanced kit and the fully upgraded one is large enough that the base moveset is worth treating as a starting point rather than a final build.
Both new specs from Update 2.1 are still unranked on the community tier lists, so there is no settled verdict yet on where Queen of Hatred lands against the existing meta picks. What is clear is the cost of entry: bounties, a mythical tier fish, a crafted charm and repeated dungeon clears before the Repair Technician will hand anything over.
