Lineage Piece Torch Locations: Light All 5 for Observation Haki

The five torches in Lineage Piece are part of the Observation Haki questline. They are not a random collectible run. You have to start the quest with an NPC and clear a combat objective before any torch will react to you, and only then can you light all five to move the questline forward.

Quick answer: Talk to the Obs. Haki NPC in Deeproot Jungle, defeat 40 bosses to clear the first quest, then teleport to and light one torch each at Deeproot Jungle, Frostborn Island, Legend’s Arena, Fossil Island, and Scorched Ruins until the tracker reads Light Up 5 Torch (5/5).

What you need before lighting torches

The torches stay inactive until the quest is active. If you run to a torch and see no prompt, you have skipped one of these steps.

Note: The 40-boss step counts any bosses in the game, but summoning Deku repeatedly at the arena pillar is the simplest way to reach the count in one place.

All 5 torch locations in order

Each island holds one torch. Use the purple [Teleport] portal to jump between them, and press E on the Light up prompt at each spot. Going in this order keeps your travel short.

Teleport to Deeproot Jungle. Cross the wooden bridge to the large tree and light the torch on the trunk. The counter moves to 1/5.

Return to the portal and select Frostborn Island. Run past the snowy village houses to the tree near the streetlamp and light the second torch.

Teleport to Legend’s Arena. Follow the stone path and light the torch mounted on a stone pillar.

Teleport to Fossil Island. Run up the grassy hill and climb the rocky ledge. The fourth torch sits on a tree right next to the NPC Muzan.

Teleport to Scorched Ruins. Follow the red cliffside path and light the final torch on the tree to finish the set. The counter reads 5/5.

How to confirm the quest is complete

After the fifth torch, the tracker shows Light Up 5 Torch (5/5). Teleport back to Deeproot Jungle and talk to the Obs. Haki NPC again. You will see the notification You already finished this Questline. Unlocked Observation Haki, along with an x1 Obs Haki Book and a 2,500,000 Coins reward. Once active, Observation Haki auto-dodges incoming attacks and shows a Dodge Left 8/8 counter.

Why a torch won’t light

If a torch shows no Light up prompt, the cause is almost always an incomplete quest state rather than a bug. Check these before assuming the object is broken.

You have not spoken to the Questline NPC yet, so the torches are inactive.
The 40-boss objective is still open, which keeps the torch step locked.
You reached the tree but did not press E on the prompt.

Clearing the boss requirement and confirming the tracker reads Light Up 5 Torch is the reliable fix. With the quest active, all five spots respond in a single run, and the Observation Haki reward drops as soon as you report back to the NPC.
