The Lonely Player Anomaly Commission in Neverness to Everness sends you into Clement Academy in Illusion Town to track down five Wandering Puppets. The chain mixes light puzzle work, dialogue checks, and a strict time gate, so the order you tackle it in matters more than your combat loadout.

Start the commission and enter the school
Open the map, switch to the Anomaly Commission tab, and select Lonely Player under Illusion Town. Track the anomaly and teleport to the closest point near Clement Academy.
The main gate is blocked by a Stern Guard who will turn you away while the quest is active. Approach from the left or right side of the school instead. You can park a vehicle against the fence and jump from the roof, or use a double jump to clear it directly.

Required items before catching puppets
Three items make the chain finishable. You can technically skip the eye drops, but they make finding the Occult Club Student and the gym puppet far less painful.

The Peepy knock chain
Five cracked walls around the school carry a Touch Me Not prompt. At each one, choose Knock three times, then Leave. After the first crack, an anomaly named Peepy asks you to find it a new home, which sets the rest of the spots as objectives.
Step 1: Hit Peepy Spot #1 on a brick wall on the right side of the school. Knock three times to start the chain.

Step 2: Ride to Peepy Spot #2 near the vending machines and Peepy Spot #3 by the running track. Knock three times at each.
Step 3: Climb the external staircase to the balcony for Peepy Spot #4, then enter the building and head to a third-floor classroom for Peepy Spot #5. Three knocks at the final crack rewards Peepy's Sunglasses.

The lost diary side task
Talk to the Student Who Lost Their Diary and choose Let's begin. A short cutscene shows a puppet covering its face and a vision of a diary resting on a circular bench.
Ride to that bench, interact with Open Diary, and bring it back. She hands over the Empathy Eye Drops. The drops have a short range, so they are easier to use after 20:00 when the relevant anomalies are active.

Escort the Troubled Student for The Guide
Find the Troubled Student wandering near the school grounds. She is looking for the Occult Club. Walk her back to the club room to receive The Guide.
If you skipped this and headed straight to the club, you can also pick up the escort by speaking with the Irritated Student on the right side of the school and choosing I'll show you the way.

Earn the Cheese camera
Inside the Occult Club room, talk to the Occult Club Student and pick About Cheese.... He will then move to three locations around the campus, and each conversation requires a specific answer.

Picking the wrong option locks you out of the easy method for the hallway puppet, so confirm each answer before committing. After the third correct response, Cheese is added to your inventory alongside The Guide and Empathy Eye Drops.

Advance time to 20:00
Open the Time System menu and set the in-game clock to 20:00. The five Wandering Puppets only spawn after 8:00 PM, and the Empathy Eye Drops behave more reliably at night.
Catch all five Wandering Puppets
Step 1: Anomaly Puppet #1 — Basketball court. Walk up to the puppet standing on the court and use Invite Puppet. No special trick is required here.

Step 2: Anomaly Puppet #2 — Running track. Interact with the puppet to get the Start Race prompt. Keep your camera locked on the puppet for the entire race; if it leaves your view, you lose. Use Invite Puppet at the finish.
Step 3: Anomaly Puppet #3 — Gymnasium. The puppet plays hide-and-seek across the gym, with possible spots near a basketball on the floor, the center of the court, the balcony, and the stage. Use Empathy Eye Drops to see from the puppet's perspective, then attack the suspected spot to expose it before inviting it.

Step 4: Anomaly Puppet #4 — Hallway. Walk down the hallway in the building you climbed earlier. As you approach, the puppet collapses from an invisible force. Open your inventory, use Cheese to take a picture (T on PC), then use Invite Puppet on the fallen puppet. You only get one Cheese shot, so stand close before triggering it.
Step 5: Anomaly Puppet #5. Approach the final puppet location and use Invite Puppet to close out the commission.

If you already used Cheese elsewhere
The Cheese camera is the only reliable way to handle the hallway puppet. If you spent it on a different anomaly, the Occult Club Student chain has to be repeated from the dialogue checks to earn it again before the hallway encounter will resolve.
Verifying completion
Each successful Invite Puppet updates the Anomaly Commission progress counter. Once all five are caught, the Lonely Player entry closes out and the puppets are added to your collection. If a puppet still shows as outstanding after a catch, reload the area or advance time by a full day to refresh its spawn.
