Where all 21 playable fighters land in the current meta, from Magik at the top to Ms. Marvel at the bottom.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls launched across PC and consoles with 21 playable fighters, and the gap between the strongest and weakest picks is already easy to feel. The 4v4 tag format leans heavily on neutral control, assists, and how well a character carries damage into the corner, so raw flash matters less than consistent output. Below is where every fighter stands right now, along with why the standouts earned their spots.

Quick answer: Magik, Spider-Man, Storm, Black Panther, Blade, and Doctor Doom are the top-tier picks. If you want the safest first main, start with Magik or Blade for their easy on-ramp and strong assists.

Why the top picks dominate

The S-tier group shares one trait: they win neutral without giving much back. Magik pairs some of the longest normals in the game with teleport pressure that can erase around 60% of a health bar once she gets you cornered. Storm and Black Panther reward mastery, using Tempest and Divine Rite respectively to string long, high-damage sequences that snowball fast.

Blade and Doctor Doom cover the other two extremes. Blade closes distance instantly and resets combos while sustaining himself, which also makes him a top tag partner. Doom is the game’s premier zoner, controlling space with ranged strings and punishing full-screen approaches, though he burns meter quickly. Spider-Man rounds out the top with screen-wide range and Spidey-Sense, the best meterless counter available.

S-tier fighters

FighterWhy they rank here
Magik
Magik
Easy to pick up, phenomenal poking with long normals, strong zoning, and great assists. Teleports let her cross up and delete huge chunks of health in the corner.
Spider-Man
Spider-Man
Great mixups, screen-wide range, high mobility, and the best meterless counter in Spidey-Sense. Baits whiffs and punishes from full screen.
Storm
Storm
Neutral master and corner carry. Tempest speeds her up and pushes projectiles, enabling massive damage loops. High skill ceiling.
Black PantherHigh mobility, amazing pokes, and cancel-at-will pressure through Divine Rite. Mixes from all ranges via Bast’s Blessing, but demands strong resource management.
Blade
Blade
Easy to use with great damage at every range. Extends and resets combos, sustains himself with Heart Stopper, and works as a strong assist.
Doctor Doom
Doctor Doom
The game’s premier zoner. Sets pace with ranged strings and command grabs, then locks down zoning wars with Nullify Shield and Auric Ray. Can be meter heavy.

A-tier fighters

The A-tier is deep and flexible. Several of these fighters climb toward S-tier on a synergistic team, and a few, like Iron Man, are arguably at their best in a support slot behind a top pick.

FighterWhy they rank here
Iron Man
Iron Man
Solid zoner with great mobility and close-range tools, but his Unibeam Shooter Assist is the real draw. Often more valuable backing up an S-tier pick.
Hulk
Hulk
Hits extremely hard, especially in Gamma Rage. Easy to play and synergize with good assists, but one-note with limited aerial mobility.
Wolverine
Wolverine
Relentless rushdown with strong mixups and Berserker chains in the corner. Struggles when forced onto the back foot.
Danger
Danger
A ranged toolbox with great Shooter and Assault assists. Calibrate triggers traps and teleports for tag mixes, but she is one of the hardest picks to learn.
Star-Lord
Star-Lord
Adapts to any situation with Elemental Blast variations and punishes from full screen. Can need help against reactive opponents who know his tricks.
Ghost Rider
Ghost Rider
Long combo chains, heavy skills, and strong pressure from range. Easy to use but easy to clip, and he can overheat and burn meter fast.
Magneto
Magneto
High-damage zoner with Metallic Hammer and Blast, plus strong Shooter and Assault assists. Defensive mechanics counter him more easily than most.
Deadpool
Deadpool
Reliable at all ranges with amazing mixups, but his Fourth Wall attacks cost self-damage from Meat Shield. You must know his routes cold to justify the payoff.

B-tier fighters

These fighters are workable and can win in the right hands, but each carries a clear limitation that keeps them out of the top groups.

FighterWhy they rank here
Captain America
Captain America
A beginner-friendly all-rounder with good damage and ranged openers. Versatile, but many see him as a stale, safe option next to the top picks.
Peni Parker
Peni Parker
An unorthodox zoner who fills the screen and racks up big combos with the right assists. Once you learn to stop her setups, she becomes easy to counter.
Green Goblin
Green Goblin
Excellent mobility, damage, and mixups on his glider, plus the advantage of being unfamiliar to most opponents. His performance drops sharply on the ground.

C-tier fighter

FighterWhy they rank here
Ms. Marvel
Ms. Marvel
Simple combos, a reliable overhead, and Elasti-grab make her friendly for newcomers. Her playstyle is extremely linear and loses effectiveness as more assists enter the match.

Ms. Marvel is a fine training-wheels pick if you are still learning the game’s fundamentals. Once opponents recognize her patterns, though, she runs out of answers quickly.

Fighters still being tested

Three characters do not have a confirmed placement yet because they need more match time before a fair ranking can be given. They will slot into the tiers as their meta impact becomes clear.

  • Champion
  • Loki
  • Carnage

How this ranking was decided

Placements weigh neutral control, damage output, mixup potential, mobility, and assist quality, with extra credit for fighters that stay strong on point and in the support slot. Ease of use factors in too, since a low-effort character that delivers high results earns a higher spot than a demanding one with the same ceiling.

This reflects the meta as it stands at the game’s full launch in August 2026, blended with observations from the closed and open betas. Fighting-game balance shifts as players optimize teams and patches arrive, so expect these positions to move, especially at the very top and bottom. If you are picking a first main, prioritize a fighter whose style you enjoy, then lean on this ranking when you want to tighten your team.
