Merge & Dig Simulator: How Damage Scaling and Rebirths Work

The grind in Merge & Dig Simulator is not hidden. Every stretch of blocks in the game posts a recommended damage figure above it, and those figures climb from 12.5 to well past 500 trillion across the first three worlds. Everything else in the game — merging, rebirths, auras, pets, potions — exists to push a single number up fast enough to keep pace with that ladder.

Quick answer: Check the “DAMAGE RECOMMENDED” label on the block section in front of you, then raise your damage to meet it by merging pickaxes to a higher tier, equipping an aura and pets, and rebirthing for a permanent multiplier. Rebirth doubles permanent damage each time and only consumes coins.

Block sections are gated by a posted damage recommendation. You can swing at blocks above your level, but they break slowly enough that coin income collapses. The jump between steps is roughly five times, which is why progress feels flat until a multiplier lands and then suddenly accelerates.

Your current damage is shown on screen while you dig, so you can compare it against the posted figure without opening a menu.

Merging pickaxes on the grid

Pickaxes are bought with coins and placed on a grid at your base. Two matching pickaxes combine into the next level, and the game flashes a “CONGRATULATIONS! YOU DISCOVERED” banner the first time you reach a new tier. Rainbow-tier pickaxes appear well into Green World, and the grid keeps going into the high teens and low twenties by the time you are digging Desert Island.

Two messages will interrupt this loop constantly. “No empty plot slots available!” means the grid is full and you need to merge before buying again. “Not enough Coins to buy Stone Pickaxe!” and its variants simply mean the purchase tier has outrun your bank, which is the cue to farm or rebirth rather than keep clicking.

Pickaxe Level and Swing Speed upgrades

The Upgrades panel holds the two coin sinks that matter most. Pickaxe Level raises the tier of the pickaxes you buy, so instead of starting every merge chain at level 1 you begin at level 11, 19, or 21 as you invest. That is the single biggest time saver, because it removes dozens of low-tier merges from each grid refill.

Swing Speed controls how often you hit. It caps at Level 4, with Level 2 costing 10K coins and Level 3 costing 1M. Once it is maxed there is nothing further to buy there, and every remaining coin should go into Pickaxe Level, auras, eggs, or rebirths.

Rebirths and permanent damage

The first rebirth unlocks at 50K coins and doubles your permanent damage. Each additional rebirth doubles it again, so Rebirth 6 sits at x64 damage. The panel states plainly that rebirthing only consumes coins, meaning your pickaxes, pets, auras, and upgrade levels survive the reset.

Because only currency is spent, there is no reason to hoard coins past the next rebirth threshold. The efficient pattern is to farm to the requirement, rebirth immediately, and repeat several times in a row once your damage is high enough to refill the bank in a minute or two.

Auras, pets, and paid multipliers

Auras are flat damage multipliers bought with coins and equipped from the Aura Shop. Azure gives x2, Solar gives x3, and Ancient gives x4, with higher tiers priced far beyond the early game.

Pets come from eggs bought with coins, and each world sells its own. The Flower Egg costs 10K, the Scorpio Egg costs 100M, and the Cactus Egg costs 1B. Pets carry damage multipliers, and the game will auto-equip your strongest set when you tap the equip prompt, confirming with “Equipped best pets!”

The Robux side of the game is entirely multiplicative. Damage multipliers run from x1.5 for 2 Robux up to x64 for 104 Robux, with x2 at 3, x4 at 9, x8 at 20, x16 at 32, and x32 at 64. The Solflare Pet is a limited-time 40 Robux buy giving x4 damage, the Tenebris Pet costs 156 Robux, and higher-end pets sit at 4,400 and 12,000 Robux. On the gamepass side, x2 Coins is 60 Robux, +2 Pet Equip is 76 Robux, and the VIP Gamepass is 636 Robux.

Two pickaxes are sold directly rather than merged. The King Pickaxe costs 76 Robux and adds a 200 percent damage boost relative to your currently equipped pickaxe, while the Sentinel Pickaxe runs 1,600 Robux. Both live in the Secrets tab of your inventory, which reads “You don’t have any Secret Pickaxes!” until one is purchased.

Coin income: AFK blocks, Auto Dig, and the Coin Potion

Each world has an AFK Coins area filled with Golden, Diamond, and Admin blocks that pay out continuously while you strike them. Once your damage is deep into the billions, parking there is the fastest way to bank the coins needed for a high-tier egg or aura. Auto Dig, toggled on from the HUD, walks your character along the block pathways so the loop keeps running without manual movement.

Potions stack on top of that. The Damage Potion doubles damage for ten minutes and displays “Used Damage Potion for 10:00!” when activated from the inventory. A Coin Potion doubles coin income for the same duration, and one is granted by the code Release. Redeem it by opening the Shop, switching to the Codes tab, typing the code with no extra spaces, and confirming.

Free coins and pickaxes also come from the Playtime Rewards menu, the free tier of the Event Pass, and the Giftbox minigame, which awards a pickaxe based on how well you time the “PERFECT!” hit. None of these are large on their own, but they cost nothing and refill the merge grid between farming runs.

Clearing a world boss and unlocking the next world

Worlds unlock in sequence, and each one is locked behind the final boss of the world before it. Green World leads to Desert Island, and Desert Island leads to Ice Kingdom.

Clear the enemies on the boss section first. Attacking the boss early produces the “DEFEAT ALL ENEMIES FIRST” prompt and nothing else happens.
Meet the posted damage recommendation before you engage. If a block section is killing you, the fastest correction is another rebirth plus a fresh aura, not more swings.
Activate a Damage Potion for the fight itself. Ten minutes of doubled damage is usually enough to cover a gap you would otherwise grind out over several rebirths.
Confirm the clear. The game shows “You have completed the biome” followed by an unlock banner such as “You unlocked Desert Island!” or “You unlocked Ice Kingdom!”, then a “Traveling to…” message once you use the teleport.

Roblox badges give a rough sense of how far most players get. The Welcome badge is awarded to everyone who loads in, the first zone champion badge sits around 6.4 percent of players, and the second zone champion badge is at roughly 0.1 percent. Reaching Ice Kingdom puts you well past where the majority of the player base stops.

Why progress stalls

Three things account for almost every wall. Digging blocks far above your posted damage recommendation slows coin income to a crawl, so drop back a step and farm blocks that break at a steady rate. A full merge grid blocks new purchases entirely, and the game will keep repeating “No empty plot slots available!” until you clear space. And sitting on coins instead of rebirthing wastes the one multiplier that costs nothing but currency.

Note: the game updates every Saturday, so upgrade costs, egg prices, and code rewards can shift. If a panel label or value on your screen differs from what you expected, treat the live interface as correct.

The reputation for grinding is earned, but the curve is predictable rather than random. Damage multiplies rather than adds, so the players who move through worlds quickly are the ones stacking rebirth level, aura, pets, and merged pickaxe tier at the same time instead of maxing one and hoping it carries them to the next boss.
