Deep inside the Armory Palace, Snezhnaya runs an experiment that finally explains how the nation intends to fight death itself. The Mirror of Remembrance sits at the center of it, and the scene ties together Vesna, Mitya, the Tsaritsa, and a memory of Ronova that nobody was supposed to see.
Quick answer: The Mirror of Remembrance pulls old memories into view. Snezhnaya uses it to study death and resurrection, then collects Seals of Life — solidified life force bound to memories — from the group.
Where the Armory Palace scene happens in Version 7.1
The sequence plays out during the Version 7.1 Archon Quest, “A Rekviem for the Underworld,” which went live on September 23, 2026. The Jester leads Anastasya, Danica, and the Traveler with Paimon through the entrance corridor and into the palace proper. Paimon is immediately struck by the scale of the place; The Jester notes that the route only feels ordinary once you have walked it enough times.

Chapter VII’s later acts both require Adventure Rank 18 and completion of the preceding act, so the Armory Palace is gated behind the earlier Snezhnaya story rather than available on its own. Both acts are permanently available after the update, and Focused Experience Mode is supported if you want a trimmed run.

Vesna and Mitya are already waiting near the central prism when the scene opens. Vesna asks Mitya about donating blood and about getting past her own fear, which lands differently once you learn what the experiment actually asks of her. The Jester arrives with Anastasya and Danica and promises Vesna the procedure will not hurt, and Anastasya introduces her formally.

| Character | Role in the scene |
|---|---|
| The Jester | Runs the experiment and operates the Mirror of Remembrance |
| Anastasya | Oversees the session; assigns Mitya afterward |
| Vesna | Carries the power of the Ruler of Life; extracts the seals |
| Mitya | Bears the mark of the Ruler of Death; reads the vision |
| Danica | Present throughout; appears in Vesna’s memory |
| Regrator | Arrives late and proposes harvesting life force |
| Marionette | Suggests stockpiling seals; takes custody of them |
Why Snezhnaya needs the Mirror of Remembrance
The Jester lays out the problem plainly. The Ruler of Death stepped in and brought their research to a stop, so the group has to understand how death and resurrection work before it can move forward. The Mirror of Remembrance is the tool for that job — it retrieves memories rather than knowledge, which means the answers have to be dug out of the past instead of tested in the present.

That framing matters for the rest of Version 7.1. Ronova’s authority is what has been holding Snezhnaya back, and she shows up later as a new Weekly Boss once the story reaches its confrontation.
The marks of life and death carried by Vesna and Mitya
The experiment requires two people. Mitya bears the Ruler of Death’s mark, and Anastasya says Vesna inherited the Ruler of Life’s power, the authority connected to Rhinedottir. Linking both to the central prism gives the mirror the two opposing traces it requires.

Before linking up, the pair raise a fair concern: if their own powers feed the prism, will their private memories spill out along with everything else? It is a small exchange, but it sets up the rule the scene eventually confirms — with this technology, memory and life force are not separable.
What the extracted memory shows about Ronova, Rhinedottir, and Naberius
Gameplay hands control back with the objective “Light and Shadow, Intertwined” and the instruction to wait while The Jester pulls the memory. Walk to the marker and the cutscene resumes.

The snippets show an old confrontation between Ronova, Rhinedottir, and Naberius over Celestia and the cycle of death. Naberius talks Rhinedottir into assisting Ronova, but only under strict rules, and only while Celestia sleeps — the arrangement is built specifically to avoid punishment.

Mitya draws the practical conclusion from it. The dead have to be brought back during the gaps between periods of monitoring. The Jester’s response is less optimistic — he warns the group to stay on guard against Ronova regardless.
How Seals of Life work
Regrator and Marionette come to the platform and suggest using the Ruler of Life’s authority to extract life force directly. Marionette describes the result as a reserve that can be used to resist death. Vesna tries the method on herself, producing the first Seal of Life.
A memory sphere surfaces with it, showing Vesna and Danica sharing food and drinks and swapping stories about travelling across Teyvat. That is the proof of the rule Vesna then explains out loud.
- Life force is bound directly to memories that matter to the person.
- Each seal appears as a glowing golden sphere carrying those memories.
- Damaging a seal erases the memories stored inside it, as Sandrone spells out.
- Vesna asks for consent before extracting anything from the group.
The cost is not the life force itself. A broken seal takes the memory with it, which is why the consent step is treated as more than a formality.
Everyone present agrees, including the Traveler and Paimon. Vesna then works through the group one at a time, pulling seals from Mitya, the Traveler, and The Jester.
The Tsaritsa’s seal contains no memories
Anastasya’s seal is the clear exception. Vesna draws a Seal of Life from Her Majesty, but the seal contains nothing: no shared meals, journeys, or faces—just pure white snow. Vesna says nothing about what she sees, yet the discovery colors the rest of the scene after the rule has been stated so decisively.
Sandrone takes charge of the collected seals afterward. Anastasya assigns Mitya to support her research, and Regrator peels off for a private word with the Tsaritsa as the group leaves the platform. Those three threads — the stockpiled seals, Mitya’s reassignment, and whatever Regrator wanted in private — are what the rest of Snezhnaya’s campaign against the Ruler of Death is built on.
