Reach the beacon, grab the Strange Village Key, beat Bor, and cleanse the corruption for a new Ovum.

The Abbey Entrance beacon opens the Kingdom of Fools dungeon in Mortal Shell 2. Clearing it comes down to three things: finding the Strange Village Key hidden in the village, using it to open a sealed gate, and defeating Bor, the Deluded Monarch at the bottom of the pit behind it.

Quick answer: Cleanse the Abbey Entrance beacon to enter the Kingdom of Fools, destroy the hanging fleshy enemy at the back of the village to get the Strange Village Key, unlock the large wooden gate near the well, drop into the pit, beat Bor, then cleanse the beacon to claim the Ovum.

Where to find the Abbey Entrance beacon

The Abbey Entrance beacon sits in the eastern part of the Mammon region, next to the traversal gate south of the Abbey. From the Outskirts of Mammon beacon, cross the Bone Gate and follow the ruins until you reach it. Interact with the beacon and select Cleanse Beacon to enter the dungeon.

This is one of 49 beacons in the game, and cleansing it turns it into a fast-travel point you can return to later.

Enter the corridor and loot the first sarcophagus

After cleansing the beacon, move down the corridor and open the first sarcophagus in the opening room. It holds 1,000 Coins.

Deal with the worshippers as needed, then head past the well in the center toward the gap at the back. Open the sarcophagus against the wall near the gap for more Coins, then turn to find a second container holding an Extracted Specimen and Venterium.

Get the Strange Village Key

The large wooden gate near the well will not budge until you have the key. If you try it early, the game prompts you for the Strange Village Key instead of opening.

Open the gate and defeat Bor, the Deluded Monarch

Return to the village center by the well and turn to the wooden gate. Use the Strange Village Key to unlock it.
Drop down the hole at the gate’s entrance. Reaching the bottom of the pit triggers the boss fight with Bor, the Deluded Monarch.
Fight Bor down. Mixing ranged attacks with melee swings works well here to keep pressure on while staying out of the giant axe’s reach.

Cleanse the beacon and claim the Ovum

With Bor defeated, loot the Monarch’s Vestige and Glimpse that drop in the arena. Then move to the beacon at the edge of the arena and cleanse the corruption. You will see a NEW OVUM FOUND prompt asking you to collect the Ovum and return to the beacon, which confirms the dungeon is complete.

Once the beacon is cleansed, it stays available as a fast-travel destination, so you can return to the Abbey Entrance from any other beacon without walking the ruins again.
