Mosswaddler and Relic Construct in Fisch: How to Unlock Both Companions

Mosswaddler and Relic Construct in Fisch: How to Unlock Both Companions

Fisch added two new companions in its 1.86.0 update, and both reward patience over grinding. The Mosswaddler shows up after a specific ocean hunt, while the Relic Construct waits underground at the Keeper's Altar and needs you to feed it a relic. Neither costs Robux, and both can be leveled up to 10 like every other companion once they join your Companion Satchel.

🎣
Quick answer: For the Mosswaddler, wait for a Mosslurker Hunt to finish, then jump into the pool quietly and interact with one of the Mosswaddlers swimming there. For the Relic Construct, head to the Keeper's Altar and feed an Enchant Relic to the construct roaming near the edges.

Before you start: unlock the Companion Satchel at Level 30

Companions only work once you can store them. The Companion Satchel unlocks at Level 30, and you open it by pressing C. Until you hit that level, you cannot equip or level up either of these pets, so reach Level 30 first if you have not already.

How to get the Mosswaddler Companion in Fisch

The Mosswaddler is the easier of the two to unlock, and you do not feed it anything. It appears in the Ocean shortly after a Mosslurker Hunt ends, so the whole process hinges on catching that event at the right moment.

Step 1: Wait for a Mosslurker Hunt to spawn. This is a global event on each server that comes around roughly every four hours, so check the event indicator before heading out.

Step 2: Take a boat out to the open Ocean and find the Mosslurker pool while the hunt is active. You do not need to do anything special during the hunt itself, just be near the pool when it wraps up.

Step 3: Once the hunt ends, look for multiple Mosswaddlers swimming around the same area. Move in carefully with a smaller boat, jump into the pool, and keep your movement quiet, no splashing around.

Step 4: Interact with a Mosswaddler to add it to your Companion Satchel. There is no food requirement, so the moment you interact successfully, the companion is yours.

The Mosswaddler's value is its freeze passive. Every 5 seconds while fishing, it has a 20% chance to freeze the fish for 3 seconds, on a 6-second cooldown. At max level those numbers rise to a 40% chance and a 7-second freeze, which makes tough catches noticeably easier to control.

How to get the Relic Construct Companion in Fisch

The Relic Construct lives at the Keeper's Altar, the same place you enchant rods. Instead of interacting, you have to feed it a relic, and it shows up more often during Sovereign Weather and Power Bursts.

Step 1: Travel to the Statue of Sovereignty, located around GPS coordinates (20, 160, -1040). This is your entry point to the underground altar.

Step 2: Enter the Sovereignty Mines and ride the elevator down to the Keeper's Altar. If you have not paid for elevator access before, you will need to speak with Cole at the mine.

Step 3: Watch the edges of the altar for the Relic Construct, which spawns randomly. Its appearance becomes more frequent during a Power Burst, so timing your visit there helps.

Step 4: Approach the construct and feed it a regular Enchant Relic. Doing so adds it to your Companion Satchel and activates the Enchanted effect.

Once it is yours, the Relic Construct doubles your catch rates for Enchant Relic, Exalted Relic, and Sovereign Relic. Feeding it different relics swaps its active buff, and it can only hold one relic effect at a time, with the exception of Quest Relics. Better relics require higher companion levels, so the construct scales alongside your progress.

RelicLevel requiredEffect
Enchant Relic1+20% XP
Exalted Relic3+10% Luck, +10% Resilience, +10% Fish Weight
Cosmic Relic5+3% Shiny chance, +3% Sparkling chance, +3% Forced Progress Speed
Invincible Relic6+100 Durability
Twisted Relic8+3% Progress every 2 seconds at 50% chance
Song of the Deep9+5% True Progress Speed
Sovereign Relic10+10% Sovereign chance, +5% Resilience, +5% Fish Weight, +1% Forced Progress Speed, +1% Shiny, +1% Sparkling, +10% XP, +3% Progress every 3 seconds at 25% chance

Leveling both companions to 10

Companions go from Level 1 to Level 10, and their passives scale at every step. You earn Companion XP through normal play, with the biggest single boost coming from Companion Candy.

ActionCompanion XP
Catching a fish+10
Interacting with the companion+5 (up to 10 between catches)
Walking the companion for 10 seconds+1 (up to 20 between catches)
Using a Companion Candy+1,500

Reaching Level 10 takes a total of 100,518 Companion XP. That investment matters most for the Mosswaddler, since the freeze passive jumps from a 20% chance with a 3-second freeze to a 40% chance with a 7-second freeze, and for the Relic Construct, which needs to be Level 10 before it can hold the Sovereign Relic effect.

How to confirm both unlocks worked

Open the Companion Satchel with C and check that the Mosswaddler and Relic Construct appear in your list. If a companion is missing, the interaction or feeding did not register.

For the Mosswaddler, the most common failure is timing. If you splash or move too aggressively in the pool, or arrive before the Mosslurker Hunt has actually ended, the Mosswaddlers will not let you interact. For the Relic Construct, you must hold an Enchant Relic when you interact, and the construct has to be present at the altar, so an empty altar simply means it has not spawned yet. Power Burst and Sovereign Weather windows are the best times to try again.
