All five heroes sorted by combat strength, from the overpowered Assassin down to the struggling Knight.

In My Party Is Grinding, a party of five heroes auto-battles through stages while you do other things, so your picks matter far more than your reflexes. The right class carries you through boss walls, and the right pet quietly boosts your rewards for the rest of the run. Both rankings below reflect the current state of the game as of the September 2026 build.

Quick answer: Run the Assassin or Mage as your damage core, and prioritize unlocking the Gold Dragon, Red Dragon, and Silver Dragon pets for the strongest chest-drop bonuses. If you are just starting, unlock the Mage or Assassin before anything else.

Class tier list

There are five playable classes. Knight is the one you spawn with; the other four are unlocked through progression. Rankings weigh single-target damage, survivability, and how much value each class returns once gear is factored in.

TierClasses
SAssassin, Mage
AWarrior, Archer
BKnight

Why the Assassin and Mage lead

The Assassin is the standout for single-target damage, which makes it the go-to answer for bosses and tough late-game enemies. It scales hard with the right gear, and it can even pick up more survivability than a pure damage class usually gets. Its AoE options exist but are secondary to its burst.

The Mage earns its S-tier spot through flexibility. It carries a spread of elemental attacks, so you can target specific enemy and boss weaknesses, and many of its skills clear groups. It rewards a magic-focused build, and its damage climbs as you lean into that gear.

Warrior and Archer: strong with the right setup

The Warrior is the best balance of offense and defense. Load it with defensive gear and it turns into a durable frontline that still hits back, which makes it an easy recommendation for beginners and long-haul progression alike. The Archer trades toughness for range, dealing heavy damage from a safe distance and unlocking elemental options when built correctly. Its low HP is the catch, and it becomes a real problem in later stages.

Knight: a serviceable starter

Knight sits in B because it is the default class and asks nothing special of you to run. It has open scaling and accepts a wide variety of gear without demanding a single stat focus. The downside is that its tanking falls short of what a dedicated frontline should offer, so it is best treated as a stopgap until you unlock better options.

Pet tier list

Pets grant permanent, account-wide passive bonuses. You do not need to equip them; owning a pet is enough for its bonus to apply. Chest-drop pets rank highest because rare loot fuels your gear pipeline, while EXP and coin pets sit lower and shift in value as your bottlenecks change.

Why the S-tier pets are worth the grind

The dragons at the top all boost chest drops, and that matters because chests are how you build out gear and materials over a long run. Gold Dragon leads with the highest boss chest bonus, Silver Dragon offers the same boss bonus far more cheaply, and Red Dragon covers normal chests. Spirit of Earth rounds out the group as an inexpensive early boss-drop pet you can grab well before the pricier options.

The A and B tiers are mostly currency and EXP pets. They speed up leveling and let you buy classes and Orb Circuit upgrades faster, but their impact tapers off once those are no longer your main hold-up. The C-tier pets give the smallest bonuses; they are useful only as early filler until stronger versions come online. Note that Night Dragon sits in C despite its steep cost because its chest bonus does not justify a 1,750,000 Gold price tag against cheaper alternatives.

How to unlock pets faster

Every farmable pet needs a set number of kills against one specific monster type before you can buy it with gold. The fastest way to hit those kill counts is to camp early stages where you can clear a full wave in under 10 seconds, letting the kills stack quickly against the monster you need. Because the bonuses are account-wide and permanent, there is no downside to unlocking as many as you can afford.

How this ranking was made

Classes are ranked on damage, survivability, versatility, and how much they gain from gear. Pets are ranked on the strength of their bonus and how relevant that bonus stays across progression, with unlock cost as a tiebreaker. These placements reflect the September 2026 version of the game and will shift if class balance or pet bonuses change in a future patch.
