The Night Light functionality in Windows 10 which protects users eyes from the blue light emitting from PC screen, is reportedly not working on the recent Windows 10 Insider Preview builds 18309 and 18305.
Microsoft has acknowledged the issue and is working on a fix. Meanwhile, if you thought of using a third-party app like f.lux to reduce eyestrain from the screen, you’d be disappointed to know that the bug in Insider build not only affects Night Light but most of other popular software like f.lux as well.
While Microsoft is working on a fix for Night Light on Insider Builds, what you can do to keep your eyes healthy is to reduce the brightness & contrast of your screen to a comfortable level when you’re working in a dark room.
If you haven’t updated to the latest Windows 10 Insider Builds, and Night Light is a must have feature for you, we suggest you to wait for the next build of Insider Preview to see if Microsoft has addressed the problem with Night Light and similar apps.
