The Intangible Clan in Ninja Time is the game’s take on Obito Uchiha, and its rework added a locked ultimate mode on top of the existing kit. Three new abilities came with it, along with a new boss and a questline called “Your New Light” that gates everything behind it. Until that questline is finished, several of the clan’s moves simply refuse to fire.

Quick answer: Equip the Intangible Clan, use Mangekyou Sharingan abilities 15 times to trigger the darkness prompt, talk to the Red Eyes Leader, use 75 more abilities, return to him, then kill the Intangible boss at Wave 15 of Boss Rush and speak to the Rift Walker near the Uchiha hideout.

What the Intangible Clan rework changed

The “Intangible Clan Rework & QoL Update” is the patch that introduced all of this. It added three abilities to the clan, a new ultimate called Intangible Eternal, an Eternal Mangekyou questline, a new Boss Rush boss, and an Intangible Clothing outfit. The boss has a 10% chance to appear every 15 waves in the Boss Rush pool, which is the single biggest source of variance in the whole unlock.

Intangible Clan skill requirements

Before any of the questline matters, you need the clan itself. Intangible is rolled from the Spins menu, and once you have it, the moves are purchased individually in the Skill Tree. Each one has its own Intangible Mastery requirement.

Spiral Rift15010s
Dimensional Fire Combo205515s
Gedo Statue Devastation20035s
Intangible Eternal Ult50545s

Buying a skill in the tree does not make it usable straight away. Several of the reworked moves only fire while Rift Walker Mode (Ultimate) is active, so pressing the key on an unlocked skill outside that mode does nothing. That is expected behaviour, not a bug.

How to trigger and complete “Your New Light”

The questline is not handed to you by an NPC. It starts on its own once you have used enough Mangekyou Sharingan abilities, so the first phase is simply playing the clan.

Equip the Intangible Clan and use any Mangekyou Sharingan ability 15 times. The counter accepts repeated casts of the same move, so spamming a short-cooldown skill such as Spiral Rift is the fastest route. After the fifteenth use, the message “The darkness is consuming yourself…” appears.
Keep using abilities past that first prompt. The game then escalates to “SPEAK TO THE RED EYES LEADER IMMEDIATELY!!”, which is the real trigger for the quest chain.

Find the Red Eyes Leader and talk to him to accept “The Light”. This quest asks for 75 uses of Mangekyou Sharingan abilities, a much larger version of the same counter you just cleared.
Grind out the 75 uses, then walk back to the Red Eyes Leader. He converts the quest into “Your New Light”, with the objective “YOUR NEW LIGHT: 0/1 Eliminate 1 of [INTANGIBLE]”.

Enter Boss Rush and fight through to Wave 15. That is the wave where the Intangible boss can spawn, and reaching it is the entire point of the run. Other bosses such as Reihaku appear on the way, so bring enough sustain to survive fourteen waves before the fight that counts.
Defeat the Intangible boss. It hits hard enough to down players who are still learning the pattern, and dying to it does not void the attempt. Killing it flips the objective and prints “Your Eye Compartment became a Light Compartment!”

Follow the updated tracker, which reads “YOUR NEW LIGHT: Talk with [RIFT WALKER]”. The Rift Walker NPC stands near the Uchiha hideout. Interacting with him closes the quest and grants the Ultimate Eternal mode.

Confirming the unlock worked

There are two clear confirmations. The first is the line about your eye compartment becoming a light compartment, which fires the moment the Intangible boss dies. The second is the quest tracker clearing entirely after the Rift Walker conversation.

The practical test is the one that matters most. Activate the ultimate mode and try the moves that previously refused to cast. Dimensional Fire Combo, Gedo Statue Devastation and the Intangible Eternal Ult should all execute in their reworked forms once Ultimate Eternal is available.

Why the questline stalls

Most failed attempts come down to one of three things, and none of them require a fix beyond patience.

  • The prompt never appears. You have not hit 15 Mangekyou Sharingan ability uses yet, or you are casting with a different clan equipped. Only Intangible progresses this chain.
  • The boss does not spawn at Wave 15. Intangible has a 10% chance to appear every 15 waves, so most runs will not produce it. Repeat Boss Rush until it does.
  • Moves still do not fire after unlocking them. The reworked abilities require Rift Walker Mode (Ultimate) to be active first. Skill Tree ownership alone is not enough.

Note: The Intangible Eternal Ult sits behind 50 Intangible Mastery, which is more than double the requirement of any other skill in the set. Even after the questline is complete, expect a stretch of mastery grinding before the ultimate itself is purchasable.

The whole chain is front-loaded with ability counters and back-loaded with luck. The 15 and 75 use requirements are pure repetition and can be cleared in a single session, but the Wave 15 spawn roll is what decides how long the unlock actually takes. Once the Rift Walker hands over Ultimate Eternal, the clan’s full reworked kit is permanently available.
