Old Gotham North SubWayne Location in Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight

The Old Gotham North SubWayne is one of the fast-travel stations scattered across Gotham City in Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Unlocking it lets you warp directly to the northern stretch of Old Gotham instead of grappling or driving across the map every time you need to return.

🚇
Quick answer: The Old Gotham North SubWayne entrance sits in the southeast corner of the Old Gotham North district, on a street corner directly opposite a Bat-Mite shop and facing the waterfront.

Where the Old Gotham North SubWayne is located

Head to the southeastern edge of the Old Gotham North district. The station entrance is built into a corner storefront facing the sea, and the easiest landmark to orient by is the Bat-Mite store sitting on the opposite corner of the same intersection. Look for the yellow SubWayne signage on the wall, which is consistent across every fast-travel point in the game.

If you have already opened the map screen, the station will appear as a locked fast-travel icon until you complete the entrance puzzle on foot.

How SubWayne stations work

SubWayne stations are the only way to fast travel between districts in Legacy of the Dark Knight. Each one is gated behind a small environmental puzzle that uses Batman's gadgets, vehicle interactions, or a second character's abilities, such as Jim Gordon's foam sprayer. Once you solve the puzzle and step inside the tunnel, the station permanently unlocks on the map and becomes a destination from any other SubWayne.

The first station you encounter is the Tricorner Island SubWayne during Mission 5: The Red Hood Gang, which serves as the tutorial for the system. After that point, every district SubWayne you find, including Old Gotham North, can be unlocked in any order during free roam.

Unlocking the station

Step 1: Travel to the southeast corner of Old Gotham North and approach the shuttered tunnel entrance with the yellow SubWayne sign. Use Batman's detect ability to highlight the interactive pieces around the doorway in yellow.

Step 2: Solve the entrance puzzle using the highlighted elements. SubWayne puzzles typically involve combinations of batarang targets, foam-sprayed mechanisms, vehicle weight plates, or container moves with a Batmobile or Batcycle. Investing in an extended detection range through the upgrade menu makes the relevant pieces easier to spot.

Step 3: Step into the tunnel once the shutter opens. The station registers on the map as unlocked, and you can immediately fast travel to or from Old Gotham North through any SubWayne menu.

How to confirm it worked

You'll know the station is active when the SubWayne icon for Old Gotham North turns from grey to yellow on the world map and appears in the fast-travel selection wheel. Approaching the entrance again will also let you trigger the travel menu directly instead of replaying the puzzle.

🦇
Tip: If the puzzle pieces aren't lighting up under detect mode, you're likely too far from the entrance. Move closer to the shuttered doorway or upgrade the detect range so the relevant cables, targets, and platforms register.

Why this station matters

Old Gotham North borders several mission-dense areas, and unlocking its SubWayne early shortens travel time when you're collecting WayneTech Caches, chasing crimes-in-progress, or returning to the Batcave between story beats. Since the Bat-Mite shop sits on the same intersection, the stop also doubles as a convenient point for buying new Batsuits and Batcave decorations on the way through.
