Old Gotham South Riddler Trophy Locations and Solutions (Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight)

Old Gotham South Riddler Trophy Locations and Solutions (Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight)

Old Gotham South holds nine Riddler puzzles spread across rooftops and ground-level alleys, with a tenth that sits on the border but registers as Old Gotham West. Several of them are gated behind specific sidekicks, so it's worth finishing the main story before sweeping the district. Jim Gordon and Nightwing carry most of the workload here.

🦇
Quick answer: Three puzzles need Jim Gordon (Foam Sprayer), two need Nightwing (Cable Tether and Pulse Scan), and the rest can be solved with Batman's standard gadgets.

Charge It Up (Jim Gordon)

This rooftop puzzle sits behind the Action News tower on the western edge of the district. The trophy cage has two empty battery slots and one battery already sitting under a broken water pipe.

Step 1: Spray foam onto the leaking pipe in the center of the roof to stop the water. Pick up the freed battery and drop it into one of the two slots next to the cage.

Step 2: Walk to the far end of the roof and smash the satellite dish. Carry the handle that pops out back to the generator beside the empty slot and slot it in.

Step 3: Grab the second empty battery from the cage, place it into the generator's slot, then crank the handle until it locks. Return the charged battery to the cage to release the trophy.

Conduit panel south of the Bat-Mite Shop

On a roof just south of the Bat-Mite Shop, a wall-mounted dial displays a question mark when the conduits are aligned correctly. You're moving three conduit segments between three rows.

  • Move the leftmost conduit down to the second row.
  • Leave the middle conduit in its starting row.
  • Move the rightmost conduit down to the third row.

The question mark lights up when the circuit completes, and the cage opens.

Steam pipe puzzle (ground level)

Drop down to street level south of the Bat-Mite Shop and you'll find a trophy buried in a cloud of steam. The valve is hidden behind a wall on a different stretch of pipe.

Step 1: Use Thermal Vision on the steam pipe and follow the heat trail along the wall until it ends at a sealed panel.

Step 2: Apply Explosive Spray to the panel and detonate it. Step inside and turn the wheel down to its lowest setting to shut off the steam.

Step 3: Walk back to the now-clear cage and collect the trophy.

Quick Batarangs

You'll find this one against the side of a building at ground level, across from a set of stairs. It's a timed Batarang challenge with three targets placed around the puzzle.

Pull the lever, then hit the targets in this order: the one directly above the trophy cage, the target on the wall to your left after you turn around, and the final one tucked behind the satellite dish on the building to your right. Land all three before the timer expires, and the cage opens.

Leverage (Jim Gordon)

A rooftop puzzle that revolves around a large sign. You need to pull five levers in a specific order, always orienting yourself relative to that sign.

Step 1: Climb to the roof above the sign and put out the fire with the Foam Sprayer, then pull the lever underneath it.

Step 2: Drop down to the rooftop on the left of the sign. Clear the spiderweb to free a lever and use it.

Step 3: Turn so the sign is behind you and pull the lever on your left.

Step 4: Face the sign again and drop to the small ledge on its right. Pull that lever.

Step 5: Return to the main rooftop and pull the final lever. The cage opens when the sequence is correct.

East of SubWayne (Nightwing)

A rooftop puzzle east of the Old Gotham South SubWayne entrance. Three rotating panels need to align so their green markings link the power flow from the question-mark source to the cage.

The first panel sits on the wall directly behind the question-mark source. Rotate it until the green segments connect.

The second panel is on a separate rooftop to the right. Use Nightwing's Cable Tether to bridge the gap between buildings before rotating that panel into position.

The third panel is on a roof just below the cage. Smash the debris pile nearby to recover its handle, attach it, then rotate the panel. With all three lit, the cage releases the trophy.

Targets Galore

At ground level near the previous puzzle. A row of targets stands in front of a wall, but only specific targets should be hit.

Step 1: Activate UV Vision near the targets and follow the invisible trail to a pattern painted on a nearby wall. The pattern is displayed upside down.

Step 2: Mentally flip the pattern, then return to the targets and throw Batarangs only at the ones marked active in the corrected layout. Hitting the wrong target resets the puzzle.

Turning Wall (Jim Gordon)

This wall-mounted puzzle has a grid of spinning cogs. The correct arrangement is hidden on a separate wall around the corner.

Step 1: Stand in front of the cogs and pan the camera to the left until you spot the green reference pattern painted nearby.

Step 2: Switch your view back to the cogs and fire Jim Gordon's Foam Sprayer at each one as it rotates into the matching position. Lock every cog to match the reference layout, and the cage opens.

North-west roof (Nightwing)

The most involved puzzle in the district, located on a rooftop in the north-west corner. It chains together three batteries, an elevator, and Nightwing's tether.

Step 1: Stand in front of the cage and use Pulse Scan to highlight a wire running down and to the left. Follow it to a lower rooftop and pick up the small battery there.

Step 2: Carry that battery back to the battery point on the side of the cage's building. Drop it on the rooftop, then use Cable Tether to link it to the matching slot.

Step 3: Return to the cage rooftop and walk across to the opposite side to find a large battery. Take it to the elevator across from the cage and slot it in to power the lift.

Step 4: Head back to where you grabbed the large battery and pick up the small battery sitting next to its spot. Carry it down on the lowered elevator and place it into the slot on the platform.

Step 5: Ride back up, remove the large battery from the elevator, and place it into the large slot beside the cage. Pull the lever in front of the cage to claim the trophy.

Unlocking the Old Gotham South SubWayne

While you're sweeping the district, the SubWayne entrance is worth clearing in the same trip. The shutter requires Catwoman, who unlocks during Chapter 2 of the main story.

Step 1: Approach the SubWayne entrance and use Catwoman's scanning ability on the wall to the left to reveal a hidden mechanism. Hit the switch with a projectile to expose five power cell slots.

Step 2: Scan again to identify the wired slots. Only the second and fourth slots connect to the main power line. Insert a power cell into the second slot, then another into the fourth.

Step 3: Return to the entrance and interact with the now-active switch. The shutter rolls up, and the SubWayne registers as unlocked.

With those nine trophies cleared and the SubWayne open, Old Gotham South is done as far as Riddler collectibles go. The neighboring puzzle that floats near the border belongs to Old Gotham West, so chase it down when you're working through that district.
