Overwatch Season 4 “Heroes of Busan” rebuilds the Battle Pass around choice. The single linear track is gone, replaced by a set of shorter tracks you can complete in any order, plus a redesigned interface and a way to swap out a skin you do not want. The total tier count and the time needed to finish the pass stay the same.
Quick answer: Finish the short introductory track first to unlock the Cyber Mechanic D.Va skin, then pick and level any of the five main tracks in the order you want. Premium owners get one Tier Hack to replace an unearned Legendary track skin with a cosmetic from Season 4’s curated pool.
How the new track system works
The pass still holds 80 tiers, but those tiers are now grouped into several shorter tracks instead of one long line. Each track works like a single page from the old design, running roughly 8 to 10 tiers, with a Legendary or Epic skin waiting at the end.

Premium rewards such as most Overwatch Coins and the Legendary Loot Boxes now sit in their own tier, and the Titles do as well. The overall length and the chance to earn currency are unchanged from earlier seasons.
Using the Tier Hack to swap a skin
Buying the Premium Battle Pass grants one charge of the Tier Hack. Spending it replaces the Legendary skin at the end of a track with a different Legendary skin pulled from a curated list of past Shop and Loot Box cosmetics. This is the fix for a season where none of the featured skins appeal to you, letting you claim something you missed instead.
The pool refreshes every season and always spans all three roles, with a focus on heroes that do not appear in Battle Passes often. Season 4 launches with 12 Legendary skins available to hack toward.
Note: A skin you have already earned cannot be hacked. Decide which reward you want before you finish leveling a track, because the swap only applies to an unearned Legendary at the end of a track.

Legacy Battle Pass Unvault at midseason
A Legacy Battle Pass Unvault system arrives at the Season 4 midseason in September, bringing back a set of older passes. You will be able to buy them or keep leveling any you already own, and these returning passes stay available to progress alongside the current season’s content.
There is one important limit. Unvaulted passes, whether purchased now or owned from before, do not include their original premium currency, Mythic Prisms, Prestige titles, or Mythic hero and weapon skins. The exact passes returning and the full timing have not been confirmed.
How to confirm the new system is working
When Season 4 is active, the Battle Pass screen shows the redesigned layout with animated seasonal backgrounds instead of the old linear bar. After the introductory track, you should see five selectable tracks and be able to set which one receives your XP. If the Tier Hack charge is available, it appears as a usable action on an eligible track’s end reward once you own the Premium pass.
Season 4 also introduces the new tank D.Mon, so the mechanics above sit alongside a fresh hero, the same 80-tier structure as before, and no extra grind to reach the end of the pass.
