Paint and Seek puts you in one of two roles each round. As a Hider you paint your character to match the walls, floors, and objects around you and stay alive until the timer ends. As a Seeker you hunt down every Hider, and you can paint yourself too, which lets you sneak up on players who think they spotted a teammate. The game explains very little about earning coins or blending in well, so the points below cover the parts that matter most for a strong start.
Quick answer: Win rounds (Hider wins pay the most), survive as long as possible when you can’t win, then fill the gap between matches by clearing the lobby obby for 20 coins and watching an ad for 67 coins. Use the painting pipette to copy exact surface colors and lock your stance so you stop moving.
How to farm money fast in Paint and Seek
Winning a round is the single biggest payout, and it also gives the most XP. Wins are worth even more when you take them as a Hider, so that is your first goal every match. If the lobby is full of skilled players and a win isn’t realistic, switch to a backup plan. As a Hider, the longer you stay alive the more coins you collect, since the reward grows with your survival time. As a Seeker, focus on tagging as many Hiders as you can.
Getting found doesn’t end your earning. After you’re caught, you can re-join the same match as a Seeker and keep adding coins by hunting the remaining Hiders, ideally finishing the round by clearing them all.

The real trick is using your downtime between rounds. The lobby has a short obby that takes about 15 seconds to finish and pays 20 coins, with a 5-minute cooldown, so it’s ready again after one longer match or two quick ones. Ads can be watched for 67 coins each and run about 30 seconds. Stacking both actions roughly fills the gap before the next round starts, which keeps your coin total climbing the whole session.
| Method | Reward | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Win a round (Hider) | Most coins + most XP | Highest priority each match |
| Survive as Hider | Scales with time alive | Reward grows the longer you last |
| Tag Hiders as Seeker | Per elimination | Re-join after being caught to keep earning |
| Lobby obby | 20 coins | ~15 sec run, 5-minute cooldown |
| Watch an ad | 67 coins | ~30 sec each |
| Taunt as Hider (Q) | 10 coins per taunt | 5-sec cooldown, reveals your rough position |
Keep an eye on the quest tracker in the top-right corner. Quests refresh on their own and usually ask for ordinary actions, like playing a set number of matches or playing with a certain number of players, and they pay a solid bonus on completion.
The taunt is a smaller, riskier earner. Pressing Q while hiding gives 10 coins on a 5-second cooldown, but it pings your approximate location to Seekers through audio, and it gets louder the closer they are. Free codes from Ikitai Studios are another low-effort coin source worth redeeming when you start.

Add to Google Preferences →Best hiding locations and painting mechanics
The strongest spots are the ones where your painted body disappears into a large, single-color surface. Two reliable examples are the yellow walls on the Backrooms map and the grey cliffside on the Island map. Don’t ignore hiding in plain sight either, because most Seekers skip the obvious spots assuming nobody would use them. The main stage on the Party map is a perfect example of that.

A good location only works if your color and posture match it. Three core mechanics decide whether a spot holds up.
Painting pipette
The pipette copies any color from anywhere on the map. You’ll find it beneath the color palette under the Painting button, labeled “copy any color.” Select it, click the surface you want to blend with, and your character instantly takes that exact color, like a chameleon. Use it constantly, since picking colors manually from the palette is slow and hard to match.
Lock stand ability
Even when you stand still, the player model drifts slightly, and that tiny motion is enough to get you spotted and removed. Activating lock stand freezes your body completely while still letting you turn the camera, so you can track where Seekers are without giving yourself away.
Change positions
You can crouch, T-pose, or lie flat on the ground while hiding. Most Seekers scan for the standard upright Roblox outline, so a different stance breaks that pattern and buys you time. You can only switch poses while your stance is unlocked, so change position only when you’re certain no Seeker is watching.
Tip: Pick spots that also offer an escape route. A great hiding place that gets checked traps you, so plan where you’ll move if a Seeker sweeps your corner.
Paint and Seek shops and knife skins
There are two shops. The regular shop sits in a corner of the lobby and also opens from the red shopping cart button on the left side of the screen, and everything in it costs Robux. The Crate Shop is in the opposite corner and sells knife skin containers for regular coins.

The only purchasable items are knife skins, which change how your Seeker knife looks. They come in different rarities, with rarer skins being harder to get, and you obtain them from crates, by leveling up, or by buying them directly. They are purely cosmetic and don’t affect gameplay.
Crate Shop (coins)
Each crate gives a random knife skin from that crate’s collection.
| Crate | Cost |
|---|---|
| Basic Crate | 350 coins |
| Graffiti Crate | 550 coins |
| Brainrot Crate | 700 coins |
| Cosmic Crate | 900 coins |
| Kawaii Crate | 900 coins |
Robux shop
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| VIP (special knife, tag, double XP, 1500 coins) | 219 Robux |
| 2x Seeker (doubles seeker chance) | 145 Robux |
| x2 Coins multiplier | 145 Robux |
| 500 – 10k Coins | 25 – 255 Robux |
| Limited Knife Packs | 109 Robux |
If you want to spend coins efficiently, the Crate Shop is the only route that doesn’t cost Robux, and the x2 Coins multiplier is the most useful paid pickup if you plan to grind for skins. Pair smart spending with the obby-and-ad routine between matches, and you’ll build a healthy coin balance while you learn each map.
