Palworld: Best Hard Mode Tower Boss Combat Builds

The weak-point bow setup and element counters that clear every endgame Hard Mode boss inside the time limit.

The weak-point bow setup and element counters that clear every endgame Hard Mode boss inside the time limit.

Hard Mode Tower Bosses in Palworld push toward half a million HP each, so raw damage alone rarely finishes them inside the clock. The fastest clears come from a single, repeatable setup that stacks weak-point multipliers on a bow, then swaps one party Pal to match each boss’s elemental weakness.

Quick answer: Equip a fully upgraded Mechanical Bow, fill your party with five different-species Pals carrying weak-point and bow partner skills (Explosive Strength, Aerial Marauder, Grounded Archer, and Untainted Maiden), eat a +20% Attack food, and aim only at boss weak points. Swap in the Pal that counters each boss’s element for the highest per-hit numbers.

Hard Mode Tower requirements and time limit

Hard Mode Towers open only after you defeat all eight regular Tower Bosses. These fights are tuned for endgame players, roughly Level 70 and above, and each boss carries far more HP than its standard version.

Every Tower Boss battle runs on a 10-minute time limit. That means consistent damage matters more than playing safe, so use the arena pillars and cover to dodge heavy attacks, then return fire at the weak point. You know a run succeeded when the boss health empties and the yellow BOSS ELIMINATED text appears.

Best all-round weak-point bow build

The most reliable killer relies on the Mechanical Bow and a party built entirely around boosting weak-point and bow damage. Landing headshots on bosses like Bjorn & Bastigor, Zoe & Grizzbolt, Axel & Orserk, and Saya & Selyne produces critical hits in the range of 11,000 to 15,000 per shot, which is enough to end each fight in about a minute.

The player carries this loadout at Level 80 with roughly 10,980 Health, 692 Attack, and 2,544 Defense. The Mechanical Bow itself is upgraded to an Attack value of 21,000, and an Eikthyrdeer Loco Moco meal adds +20% Attack for the fight.

Party Pals and partner skills

Every Pal in this party contributes a passive buff to the player rather than doing the fighting itself. Keeping all five as different species is important because it activates Solenne’s Untainted Maiden skill for a large flat Attack boost.

PalPartner skill (Lv. 5)
Cryolinx TerraExplosive Strength — next weak-point attack power +60% (no stack)
SolenneUntainted Maiden — player Attack +80% if all party Pals are different species
VanwyrmAerial Marauder — weak-point damage +40%, ridable flying mount
RobinquillGrounded Archer — player bow damage +35%
Vanwyrm CrystAerial Marauder — weak-point damage +50%, ridable flying mount

The shared passive skills reinforce both offense and survivability. Vanguard adds +10% player Attack, Stronghold Strategist adds +10% player Defense, and Reload Master gives +4% reload speed. Idiosyncratic layers on +50% auto health regen, +25% Defense, and immunity to poison and burn damage. Vanwyrm Cryst also brings Immortality (+15% Attack with life steal and regen) and Diamond Body (+30% Defense with flinch and knockback immunity), which keeps you steady while firing.

Tip: Because the bow relies on precise weak-point hits, this build performs best in the head-shot arenas. If your damage numbers stay low, you are almost certainly hitting the body rather than the weak point.

Element-counter Pal build

The second approach leans on element-matched combat Pals instead of pure bow output. When your active Pal counters the boss element, the game confirms it on screen with a “highly effective” prompt and empowers your attack with that element, raising its damage.

Against Zoe & Grizzbolt, summoning a Level 80 Anubis triggers the Ground advantage and Earth-empowered hits, clearing the fight in under a minute. Against Lily & Lyleen, a Level 80 Wixen provides the Fire counter for the same result. Pair either with a strong firearm such as the Plasma Rifle to cover the gaps while your Pal’s skills recharge.

Element weakness for every Tower Boss

Match your swap Pal to the weakness below before you enter each tower. Zenara and Astralym have no elemental weakness, so that fight comes down to raw weak-point damage from the bow build.

Hard Mode rewards on first clear

Clearing each Hard Mode Tower for the first time guarantees an exclusive cosmetic hat modeled on that boss. Each Hard Mode boss also has a 10% chance to drop a Legendary Schematic used to craft powerful weapons or armor. Defeating a boss for the first time also grants 5 Ancient Technology Points, but that reward only pays out once per boss.

Why a run fails to finish in time

When a boss survives past the 10-minute limit, the cause is usually one of a few fixable things. Address these before your next attempt.

  • Hitting the body instead of the weak point, which cancels the Explosive Strength and Aerial Marauder multipliers.
  • Bringing an off-element Pal, so you miss the “highly effective” damage bonus.
  • Running duplicate party species, which switches off Solenne’s +80% Attack.
  • Using un-upgraded weapons, armor, or shield against bosses with far higher HP.
  • Under-leveled player or Pals, since Hard Mode is tuned for Level 70 and above.

If the fight is still too tight, you can bring up to four players into a single tower. Wait for everyone to gather before interacting with the door so the whole party enters together, then combine the weak-point bow build with element-matched Pals to drop even the Level 80 encounters quickly.
