Plenty of Pals in Palworld do nothing offensive on their own yet quietly make your whole run stronger. Keep one in your active party and it hands out a passive boost to your character or to other Pals of a matching element. The catch is knowing which Pal buffs what, and how much it scales as you raise its Partner Skill level.
Quick answer: A support Pal only applies its buff while it sits in one of your five active party slots. Numbers are written as Lv.1/2/3/4/5 (raised through Pal Condensation), and most party buffs are tagged “Does not stack,” so running two Pals with the same skill gives you the effect only once.

How Pal buffs work
Buffs come exclusively from the Pals currently in your party. Pals sitting in your Palbox, at a base, or in your box do nothing for your stats. Drag a Pal from the Palbox into an empty party slot to switch its buff on, and pull it back out to turn it off.

Each Pal’s Partner Skill level rises when you condense it, which pushes the buff toward the highest value in its range. Two things to remember before you build a team. First, a buff marked “Does not stack” will not double up if you slot two Pals sharing that exact skill. Second, element buffs only touch Pals of the named element, so pair the buffer with an attacker of the same type for it to matter.

Add to Google Preferences →Element Attack buffers (+15% to +30%)
These Pals raise the Attack of every party Pal that shares their element. The percentage is identical across the group, so the choice comes down to which element your main damage dealer belongs to. Slot the buffer that matches your attacker.

Element Defense buffers (+15% to +30%)
The defensive mirror of the group above. Each raises the Defense of party Pals sharing its element, useful when you want an ace attacker to survive longer rather than hit harder.

Player Attack and weapon damage buffs
These Pals boost the damage you deal on foot. Some raise your flat Attack, others sharpen a specific weapon type. Solenne stands out because its buff scales to a massive +80% at Lv.5 as long as every Pal in your party is a different species, which is easy to satisfy.
| Pal | Effect | Value (Lv.1–5) |
|---|---|---|
| Solenne | Player Attack, if all party Pals are different species | 30/40/50/60/80% |
Gobfin / Gobfin Ignis | Player Attack | 10/11/13/16/20% |

Croajiro | Player Attack while airborne after a launch | +50% |
Attack-type converters that raise your Attack
Two flavors exist here. Activated skills change your attack element and grant a large flat Attack boost, while mount skills apply a smaller boost only while you ride. Match the element to what your enemy is weak against.
Activated converters (+30% to +50%)
| Pal | Attack type | Attack buff (Lv.1–5) |

Frostallion Noct | Dark (inflicts Blind) | 10/14/20/28/40% |
Note: Shadowbeak and Selyne work a little differently. Rather than converting your element, they enhance existing attacks while mounted. Shadowbeak boosts Dark attacks by 15/17/20/24/30%, and Selyne enhances both Neutral and Dark attacks by the same range.
Weak point damage boosters
These improve damage dealt to enemy weak points, which pays off heavily against bosses and alphas. Several apply to both you and your Pals, so they scale well with any team.
| Pal | Scope | Buff (Lv.1–5) |
|---|---|---|
Vanwyrm / Vanwyrm Cryst | All weak point damage | 20/22/26/32/40% |
Univolt | Electric weak point damage | 25/27/30/34/40% |
Blazamut Ryu | Dragon weak point damage | 25/27/30/34/40% |
Ribbuny Botan | Grass weak point damage | 25/27/30/34/40% |
Penking Lux | Water weak point damage | 25/27/30/34/40% |
Turtacle Terra | Ground weak point damage | 25/27/30/34/40% |
Finsider Ignis | Fire weak point damage | 25/27/30/34/40% |
Croajiro Noct | Dark weak point damage | 25/27/30/34/40% |
| Moldron Cryst | Ice weak point damage | 25/27/30/30/40% |
Cryolinx Terra | Next weak point hit after landing one | 30/34/40/48/60% |
Xenolord is a special case in this category. Instead of raising your own weak point damage, it increases the damage dealt by the Partner Skills of weapon-wielding Pals by 20/26/32/38/50%.
Status-affliction damage boosters
Each of these amplifies damage against enemies suffering a specific status effect. They pair naturally with weapons or Pals that inflict the matching ailment, and all apply to both you and your party Pals.
| Pal | Target status | Bonus damage (Lv.1–5) |
|---|---|---|
Jormuntide | Soak | 50/53/56/60/65% |
Jormuntide Ignis | Burn | 50/53/56/60/65% |
Prixter | Poison | 50/53/56/60/65% |
Needoll | Ivy-Covered | 50/53/56/60/65% |
| Pierdon | Muddy | 50/53/56/60/65% |
| Roujay | Blind | 50/53/56/60/65% |
Team damage reduction and status immunity
These Pals cut incoming elemental damage for you and your whole party, and most add immunity to a linked status effect. Aegidron is the outlier, slashing explosive damage and blocking Stun.
| Pal | Reduced damage / immunity | Reduction (Lv.1–5) |
|---|---|---|
Kitsun | Ice, immune to Freeze | 15/17/20/24/30% |
Kitsun Noct | Dark, immune to Blind | 15/17/20/24/30% |
Wumpo Botan | Ground, immune to Muddy | 15/17/20/24/30% |
Elphidran Aqua | Fire, immune to Burn | 15/17/20/24/30% |
Sootseer | Neutral | 15/17/20/24/30% |
| Petallia Ignis | Grass, immune to Ivy-Covered | 15/17/20/24/30% |
| Pierdon Cryst | Dragon | 15/17/20/24/30% |
| Bulldosu | Electric, immune to Electrify | 15/17/20/24/30% |
| Snock Lux | Water, immune to Soak | 15/17/20/24/30% |
| Aegidron | Explosive damage, immune to Stun | 60/65/70/75/80% |
Player Defense, shields, and survivability
If you are the one taking hits, these Pals harden your character. Silvegis is the standout defensive pick, cutting shield damage by up to 80% and shortening the delay before your shield regenerates.
| Pal | Effect | Value (Lv.1–5) |
|---|---|---|
Silvegis | Less shield damage taken (also cuts regen delay 30–60%) | 65/68/71/75/80% |
Menasting | Player Defense | 5/6/7/8/10% |
| Menasting Terra | Player Defense | 5/6/7/8/10% |
| Lapiron | Player Defense while sprinting | 50/52/55/59/65% |
Warsect / Warsect Terra | Barrier after 5 melee hits within a window (strength) | 5/6/7/8/9 |
Hartalis | Mounted barrier that blocks all attacks, triple jump | — |
| Tropicaw | Longer invincibility on dodge rolls and steps | 5/6/7/8/9% |
Buffs for your active Pal in battle
A few Pals feed their bonus straight to whichever Pal is fighting beside you, often building as combat continues. Orserk is the standout, stacking Attack and Defense up to 30 times as you land bullets, which is why a Drone Launcher pairs so well with it.
| Pal | Trigger and effect |
|---|---|
Orserk | Bullet hits add 1/2/3/4/5% Attack and Defense for 5s, stacks up to 30 times |
Blazamut | Defeating an enemy grants 5/6/7/8/10% Attack and Defense for 20s, stacks up to 5 times |
Celesdir | Restores 0.15–0.75% Health per second to you and party Pals |
| Celesdir Noct | Your active Pal trades Health for a 40/50/60/70/80% Attack boost |
Self-scaling and activated self-buffs
The last group buffs the Pal itself rather than you. Some scale with how many matching Pals share the party, while the activated ones spike their own stats for a short burst, which pairs well with cooldown-reducing support like Lapure.
| Pal | Effect |
|---|---|
Elizabee | +12/13/15/19/24% Attack per Beegarde in party |
Beegarde | Increases Elizabee’s Attack while in party |
Sweepa | +12/13/15/19/24% Attack and Defense per Swee in party |
Swee | Raises Sweepa’s Attack and Defense by 12/13/15/19/24% |
| Leafan | +2/3/4/5/6% Attack and Defense per other Grass Pal |
| Moldron | +4/5/6/7/8% Attack per other Fire or Ground Pal |
| Shaolong | +4/5/6/7/8% Attack per other Dragon Pal |
| Eidrolon | +2/3/4/5/6% Attack and Move Speed per Dragon or Dark Pal |
Gorirat | Activated: +75/115/165/225/300% Attack for a limited time |
Knocklem | Activated: +50/75/110/150/200% Attack and Defense for a limited time |
| Knocklem Ignis | Activated: +60/85/120/160/210% Attack and Defense for a limited time |
You will know a buff is live the moment the Pal enters an active slot, since its Partner Skill applies immediately without any prompt. If a boost seems to be missing, the usual cause is a species mismatch (an element buffer with no matching Pals to boost) or two Pals sharing a “Does not stack” skill, in which case only one instance counts. Swap in the buffer that lines up with your attacker’s element or your chosen weapon, and the numbers above are what you will get at each Partner Skill level.
