PEAK: How to Unlock the Last Resort Badge With the Ritual Dagger

Drop below 25% health, sacrifice a co-op teammate at an Ancient Idol, and heal completely to earn the badge.

Drop below 25% health, sacrifice a co-op teammate at an Ancient Idol, and heal completely to earn the badge.

The Ritual Dagger is one of the new items added in PEAK’s Final Ascent update, and it does exactly one memorable thing: it lets you stab a co-op teammate in the back to sacrifice them, instantly refilling your health and clearing your ailments. Using it while your own health is critically low is the trigger for the Last Resort Badge.

Quick answer: Drop your health below 25%, get behind a living teammate near an Ancient Idol, and hold Right-Click to sacrifice them. Your health fully restores, the badge unlocks, and you can then revive them at the Idol.

Requirements before you start

The badge cannot be earned solo. The Ritual Dagger only appears in co-op sessions, and the sacrifice needs a real teammate as the target. If you are climbing alone, there is no way to obtain the item or the badge.

Where the Ritual Dagger spawns

The Ritual Dagger drops from Ancient Idols and Ancient Luggage. It is a random chance each time, so it will not appear every run. Ancient Luggage shows up often in the later biomes such as GLOOM and THE CITADEL, which gives you the most consistent shot at finding one.

Note: because the drop is random, plan to open plenty of Ancient Luggage on a co-op climb rather than counting on a single container.

What the Ritual Dagger does

When you sacrifice a teammate, they are turned to stone and drop to the ground, sometimes shattering. In exchange, your own health is fully restored and your active ailments, such as hunger and burning, are cured at the same time. In practice, that single use can wipe out 75 or more points of damage in one motion.

The person you sacrifice is not gone for good. Their soul remains, and you can bring them back at an Ancient Idol, which is why positioning the sacrifice near an Idol matters.

Unlock the Last Resort Badge

Secure the Ritual Dagger from an Ancient Idol or Ancient Luggage in a co-op run, and make sure a teammate is willing to be sacrificed near an Ancient Idol.
Lower your own health below 25%. The simplest method is to climb something tall, such as a palm tree, and take fall damage until your health bar is deep in the red.
Walk up directly behind your teammate. When the SACRIFICE prompt and its circular progress ring appear, hold Right-Click until the ring completes.

The teammate turns to stone and your health bar refills instantly. With your health under 25% at the moment of the sacrifice, the Last Resort Badge unlocks.

Revive your teammate at the Ancient Idol so the run can continue. Their ghost lingers nearby until you bring them back.

Why the badge may not trigger

  • You are in a solo expedition, so the dagger never spawns and there is no teammate to sacrifice.
  • Your health was at or above 25% when the sacrifice completed. Take more fall damage and try again.
  • You never lined up behind a living teammate, so the sacrifice prompt did not appear.

Beyond the badge, the Ritual Dagger is a genuine survival tool on co-op climbs. If your group is starving and injured in a punishing biome, sacrificing one player so someone healthy can reach the top and revive them at the Ancient Idol beats losing the entire team.
