PEAK Secret Ending: How to Unlock the Rule Zero Badge

Collect all four Scout Amulets in one run, free the Scoutmaster's soul in Nadir, and trigger the hidden Rule Zero achievement.

Collect all four Scout Amulets in one run, free the Scoutmaster’s soul in Nadir, and trigger the hidden Rule Zero achievement.

The hidden finale in PEAK sits behind the new Rule Zero Badge, and reaching it means freeing the soul of Scoutmaster Myers. The whole sequence arrived with the Final Ascent update, the last major patch for the co-op climber, which swapped the Gloom and Citadel biomes in and added a fresh secret to chase. Pull it off, and you get a bespoke ending cutscene instead of the usual helicopter escape.

Quick answer: Collect all four Scout Amulets across the biomes in a single run, carry them to the PEAK, bestow them on the Stone Scout to turn the Strange Gem into Scout’s Honor, then commune with it to reach Nadir, free the Scoutmaster’s Soul, and climb out through the gate to unlock the Rule Zero Badge.

What you need before you start

Everything must happen in one continuous climb. There are four Scout Amulets, one per biome on the way up, and you have to reach the summit holding all four at once. Bring a Backpack so you can store each gem safely without dropping it during a fall.

The amulets are marked in the world by a glowing blue light. Follow that light to a small stone Scout statue, which holds the gem for you to pick up. Each one grants a use effect during the climb, but there is a catch covered further down, so treat them as key items rather than tools.

All four Scout Amulet locations

The gems appear in the same fixed order as you ascend. Watch for the blue trail in each area and pick up the amulet from the statue at the end of it.

Turn the Strange Gem into Scout’s Honor at the PEAK

Reach the PEAK with all four amulets, but do not light the rescue flare. Head down the grassy slope toward the back of the summit to find the Stone Scout statue, which is holding a pink-colored Strange Gem.

Pick up the Strange Gem, then hold your four Scout Amulets. Bestow each amulet on the statue one at a time so all four sit on the stone sash.
With all four gems placed and the Strange Gem still in hand, choose Bestow on the Strange Gem. It glows colorful, then purple, and transforms into Scout’s Honor.

Note: Do not use the amulets’ special effects earlier in the run. Players who activated those effects during the climb have taken heavy damage when triggering the statue, so keep the gems purely as inventory items until this moment.

Free the Scoutmaster’s Soul in Nadir

Hold Left-Click to commune with the Scout’s Honor item. A loading screen plays and you spawn in Nadir, a snowy realm with a ghostly, crashed ship.

Loot the orange Explorer’s Luggage cases scattered ahead. They hold survival gear including a jetpack, a rope cannon, a first aid kit, and an energy drink, all of which help you climb out.
Move forward and up the staircase until you reach a giant hand holding an orb with a ghost inside. This is the Scoutmaster’s Soul. Press and hold to shatter the orb; you get the prompt “The lost souls are rising,” and the soul begins following you like a downed Scout.
Climb out of Nadir the same way you leave any biome, using the stairs, chains, and anti-gravity bubbles to keep heading upward. At the top, you reach the gate back to the PEAK. Interact with it to start the final cutscene.

How you know it worked

Passing through the gate plays the secret ending. Your Scout hauls the skeletal Scoutmaster up a hill, lights a red flare, and signals a rescue helicopter that carries you both off the mountain before the PEAK title card and credits roll. Completing this run awards the hidden Rule Zero achievement and unlocks the badge in-game, which confirms the soul is freed.

If the ending does not trigger, the usual causes are missing one of the four amulets, dropping a gem during the climb, or leaving the summit by flare instead of walking to the Stone Scout. Because the amulets must be gathered and delivered inside a single expedition, a failed run means starting the collection over from Shore.
