Challenge Mode in Phasmophobia drops you into a curated contract with preset rules and a fixed loadout, so you experiment without risking your own gear. The weekly slot rotates through a list of these contracts, and the one live right now is Tag! You’re It! on Brownstone High School. It is one of the rougher entries because the ghost can start a hunt the moment you walk in.
Quick answer: Load the Tag! You’re It! contract on Brownstone High School and correctly identify the ghost three times. Each correct identification counts even if you die, and finishing the weekly task pays $5,000 and 5,000 XP.

Tag! You’re It! challenge rules and modifiers
This contract uses a modified Professional setup. Your sanity starts at zero and never recovers, there is no setup time, and your movement speed is cranked up to compensate. Every Tier I item is available, so the gear is not the problem, but staying alive on a large map with a constantly hunting ghost is.

The goal is the same as every weekly challenge. Identify the correct ghost type three times on the featured map. You do not need to survive the contract for a run to count, so even if the ghost catches you, a correct guess still registers.
You will know it worked when the weekly task updates and the $5,000 and 5,000 XP reward is granted after the third correct identification. The challenge always uses a 1x reward multiplier, equal to Amateur, so the payout comes from the weekly task itself rather than the contract earnings.
Note: progress does not count if you play the contract on any map other than Brownstone High School. For challenges set on Sunny Meadows, the standard and Restricted versions are treated separately and do not cross over.
Tips for surviving Tag! You’re It!
- Stage all your equipment at the front door first, since you have no setup time and no sanity cushion.
- Place Crucifixes around the ghost room once you locate it to block a few hunts.
- Run, do not hide. The 150 percent speed boost on a large map makes fleeing more reliable than crouching in a closet.
- Watch for behavior clues during hunts, like a Wraith avoiding salt or an Obake shapeshifting, when a full investigation is hard.
- Play with friends so the team can keep investigating after a death.
- Guess before leaving, then reroll. Equipment is free here, so there is no money to lose by trying again.
When the weekly challenge changes
The challenge rotates every Monday at 12am UTC, which lands at 6pm CT on Sunday. You get a full week to clear each one, and because the list cycles in a fixed order, you always know what is coming next. The 26 standard challenges all return on the rotation, so a missed week is never permanent.
After Tag! You’re It! the rotation loops back to the top of the list, so the next weekly challenge is Lights Out! on 6 Tanglewood Drive, beginning June 29, 2026.
