Pokemon Pokopia: Every Large Sunken Relic in Bubbly Basin

How to break sparkling blocks, appraise your finds remotely, and the full list of all 14 relics.

Large Sunken Relics are Bubbly Basin’s underwater version of the Large Relics you collect elsewhere in Pokemon Pokopia. They hide inside sparkling blocks, take the form of a large blue can until appraised, and unlock decorative furniture once Professor Tangrowth identifies them. Because Tangrowth can’t swim, the appraisal step works a little differently here.

Quick answer: While swimming through Bubbly Basin, punch any block giving off a sparkling gold light, pick up the relic that drops, then take it to the Pokemon Center PC and choose the new Appraisal option to video call Professor Tangrowth. Only appraised relics register in your collection and appear in the PC shop.

Find Large Sunken Relics in sparkling blocks

The relics spawn randomly, so there is no fixed spot to farm them. What you can do is watch for the tell-tale glow while you explore.

Swim through Bubbly Basin and look for blocks emitting a sparkling gold light. These are the same kind of blocks that hold relics on land, just placed underwater.

Use your punching ability to break the block, then pick up whatever falls out. Not every drop is a Large Sunken Relic. You may also get Small Relics or CDs, but grab them all.
If you are struggling to spot more, bring along a Pokemon with the Search specialty, such as Frillish, and use the Dowsing Machine. Some relics sit inside boxes you can’t see, and the Dowsing Machine helps track those down.

Note: You might come across some of these items already placed around Bubbly Basin as you explore. Seeing an item is not the same as owning it. Until you find the Large Relic that holds it and have it appraised, the item won’t be added to your collection or show up in the Pokemon Center PC’s shop.

Appraise relics remotely at the Pokemon Center PC

You can’t hand these relics to Professor Tangrowth in person, since he isn’t able to swim down to Bubbly Basin. The appraisal happens through a video call instead.

Collect a few relics, then head to the Pokemon Center and interact with the PC. A new Appraisal option is available there.

Select the Appraisal option to video call Professor Tangrowth, who identifies your relic from afar. Once appraised, the item is registered in your collection and becomes purchasable from the PC shop.

The results are random. It’s normal to appraise three copies of the same relic before a missing one finally appears, so keep collecting and appraising until the set is complete.

Windup Inkay and Gyarados Fountain locations

If you need the Windup Inkay for the Muddy Playtime Habitat, you don’t have to rely on random block drops. One is stored inside a Poke Ball in the darker part of the depths, opposite the direction where you find Barboach’s chair.

For the Muddy Fountain Habitat, a Gyarados Fountain can be found in the garden-like area near the cave where Frillish appears. Even when you find these items placed in the world, remember to have the corresponding Large Relic appraised so the item registers and unlocks in your shop.
