Dream Islands are the fastest way to gather large batches of a single material type in Pokopia. Each island is tied to a specific Doll, and handing that Doll to Drifloon sends you to a matching resource-rich world you can strip bare without worrying about how it looks afterward. The Doll you carry decides where you land and what you can farm.
Quick answer: Place a Doll outside, interact with it to summon Drifloon, and ask to be taken to its island. There are eight Dolls but six destinations, since the Ditto and Substitute Dolls both drop you on a random existing island.
Every Doll, its Dream Island, and key materials
Seven Dolls are available to all players, while the Starmie Doll is exclusive to the Bubbly Basin content. Each island is modeled on a region from the main story, so it carries that region’s signature resources. The three headline materials below are what you are guaranteed to see, but every island also holds loose blocks, wood, rocks, and decor you can take home.

Note: The Clefairy Doll’s Rock Peak island quietly supplies Ice, which is otherwise almost impossible to find elsewhere in the game. Dream Islands are also the only source of Stardust, which unlocks the Star Piece recipe (Stardust x99) once you pick up your first one.
Unlock Dream Islands by befriending Drifloon
You can reach a Dream Island early, but only after Drifloon agrees to fly you there. Drifloon floats on the western beach of Withered Wasteland, reachable once you have Rock Smash from Hitmonchan and clear the fragile boulders west of the area’s Pokémon Center.
Where to find each Doll
Most Dolls are random treasure pulled from glowing spots across the world, so keep smashing glowing blocks and use the Dowsing Machine to speed up the hunt. A handful have fixed locations or are tied to quests, and the rest can be purchased once your town grows.
- An early Eevee Doll sits inside a glowing rock on the eastern side of Withered Wasteland, near where you meet Drilbur and the Bleak Beach entrance.
- A Pikachu Doll and an Eevee Doll are inside a derelict house in the southwestern corner of Bleak Beach.
- The Starmie Doll comes from Frillish’s mission in Bubbly Basin.
- The Substitute Doll can be obtained through Drifloon in Withered Wasteland.
- Any of them can be bought from the Pokémon Center PC in Palette Town after you raise the Environment Level.
Tip: Collecting one of every Doll (aside from Substitute) lets you build the Bed With a Plush habitat, which attracts Drifloon, Slowbro, Slowking, and Munchlax.
One island per day, and how resources reset
You can only travel to one type of Dream Island per in-game day, so pick the material you need most before you leave. You may return to that same island as many times as you like on the same day, but anything you already picked up will not respawn. Fresh materials only come back once the next day begins, which is why it pays to bring an upgraded inventory and plenty of food. There is no Pokémon Center on an island, so food keeps your PP topped up for repeated Rock Smash and gathering.
Find the Legendary Pokémon hiding on an island
Several islands have a chance of hiding a Legendary Pokémon you can meet and recruit, but the encounter is not guaranteed on any given visit. Whether one is present comes down to random chance each time you arrive.
If the Pokédex shows no question mark, no Legendary spawned that day. Leave and come back on a later day for another roll, and keep an eye out for extra rewards like habitat suggestions, CDs, papers, and rare Pokémetal while you dig.
