Project Slayers 2: Flame Breathing Location and How to Obtain It

The route to Flame Trainer Rengu, the training quests he sets, and the mastery levels behind each Flame technique.

Flame Breathing in Project Slayers 2 is taught by a single NPC, Flame Trainer Rengu, and he does not stand anywhere near the spawn areas most players stick to. Getting to him means leaving Mistfall Harbor, crossing open water, and climbing a cliff into the ruins on the far side of the bay.

Quick answer: Swim from Mistfall Harbor out to the cliff beneath the large bridge, wall-climb up into the Forgotten Ruins, and speak to Flame Trainer Rengu at the house to start the unlock quests.

Before you travel to the Flame Trainer

Two things are worth sorting out before the trip, because both will stop you cold once you are standing in front of the trainer.

  • If you already have a breathing style, buy Reset Breathing from the in-game shop for 100 Robux to free up the slot.
  • Save skill points. Flame techniques are bought individually in the Skill Tree after the style itself is unlocked.
  • Have a katana equipped and healing on hand, since the trip crosses hostile ground.

Flame Trainer Rengu location: Route from Mistfall Harbor

Start from Mistfall Harbor. If you are coming from Bamboo Grove, run east across the river, swim the short stretch, and climb back onto land near the torii gate. Open the full-screen map to confirm you are lined up with the harbor rather than Windy Peaks.

Run through the harbor village, past the torii gate and the rows of houses. Rooftops make the trip faster, but the goal is simply to reach the water’s edge on the harbor side rather than getting turned around in the side streets.
Jump into the ocean and dash straight across the bay. Aim for the cliff face directly underneath the large bridge — that rock wall is the entrance point, not the bridge itself.

Use wall climb to scale the cliff. At the top you come out in the Wilderness and Forgotten Ruins area, which is where the trainer lives.
Head across the ruins toward the house in the distance. Flame Trainer Rengu is at that building, labelled clearly when you get close enough to see his nameplate.

The boss Rengu occupies the ruins on the approach, and his cinematic attack can kill an underlevelled character outright. If the boss health bar appears, break line of sight and keep moving toward the house instead of trading hits.

How to obtain Flame Breathing from the trainer

Interact with Flame Trainer Rengu and accept the training quest from his dialogue menu. Read the prompt in full, since the trainer interface is the authority on what your character currently needs.
Complete the cup mini-game he starts. The counter has to reach 10/10 before the next stage becomes available.
Fight the Flame Trainee on the cliffside and finish the 5/5 portion of the training quest. Winning that fight is what actually grants the style.

You know it worked when the quest closes out and Flame Breathing is registered on your character — the Flame techniques then show up as purchasable nodes in the Skill Tree menu. Until that happens, the tree stays empty and no Flame moves can be equipped.

Flame Breathing skill tree unlocks and mastery levels

Unlocking the style is only the first half. Each technique costs skill points, and the later ones are gated behind mastery, which you raise by fighting with the style equipped.

Unknowing Fire is the one to buy first. It is the style’s gap-closer, and it gives you something to do while mastery is still low. Spend the point, equip the move, and the dash becomes your main way of opening a fight.

Flame Tiger is the node worth grinding toward, because it has two behaviours from a single key. Held, it becomes a run of close-range slashes; tapped, it sends a flame tiger forward as a projectile, which covers the range gap the rest of the kit leaves open.

Mastery climbs fastest on repeat boss runs, and the Rengu fight in the same ruins doubles as both the mastery grind and a drop source.

Wop City is the original Project Slayers trainer, not the sequel’s

A lot of older directions send players to Wop City on the Ouwohana map, which is selected at level 50 and above from the map screen. That is the first Project Slayers, where the Flame Trainer stands near a lantern-lit building in the city and asks for level 75, 10K Wen, and 150 Demon Horns before setting boulder, meditation, push-up and Flame Trainee tasks.

That route runs from Nomay Village across the snow, over a long elevated bridge and down past a waterfall before the stairway up into Wop City. None of it applies to the sequel — following it will just cost you the travel time.

Trainer costs and requirements do shift between updates, so treat the prompt on Rengu’s dialogue box as the final word rather than any fixed checklist. The cliffside location itself is the part that stays constant.
