M1 damage in Project Slayers 2 is your light-attack output, the standard swing you chain between skills. Reaching the top end of that number comes down to three things stacking together: a maxed Nightfall weapon, the right clan perk, and armor that adds flat damage plus a damage multiplier. Get all three and each hit lands well into triple digits.

Quick answer: Equip a Tier 3 +10 Nightfall weapon, join the Soyama clan for Combat Intuition, and stack Nightfall and Firstlight damage gear. That reaches roughly 110 M1 damage on its own, and over 126 per hit while the buff is active.

Use a Nightfall weapon as your base

Nightfall weapons carry the highest base damage in the game, so the whole build starts here. The Nightfall Katana and Nightfall Gauntlet (also seen as Nightfall Claws) are the two to chase, and both are crafted at Ouwland from Nightfall materials. A fresh Nightfall Gauntlet lists +5.75 Additional Damage and a 1.147x Additional Damage Factor before any upgrades.

If you are still working toward Nightfall, the katana line runs from the Thunder Katana up through the Thundercloud Katana in the Ogawara Dungeon before reaching the Nightfall Katana schematic. That schematic sits in a hidden cave below Mistfall Harbor, reached by dropping down the cliff near the Shinobu boss area.

Upgrade to Tier 3 and refine to +10

A base Nightfall weapon is only part of the picture. Tier upgrades and refinement do the heavy lifting, and both are handled through Refiner Hagane in the Hidden Mist Village. Pushing a Nightfall weapon to Tier 3 and +10 raises its Additional Damage to roughly +18 and its Additional Damage Factor to about 1.3x.

Refinement rolls can fail and downgrade an enhancement, so carry Refinement Guards to protect your progress at the higher levels. The success chance drops as the number climbs, which is why the +10 target takes patience rather than a single sitting.

Pick the Soyama clan for Combat Intuition

The single largest jump in M1 damage comes from the Combat Intuition perk, which both the Soyama and Kamado clans share. Once it activates, light-attack damage surges. In a live test against Sanemi, hits jumped from around 40 to 126 per swing the moment the buff triggered.

The difference is how each version turns on. Kamado’s Combat Intuition triggers only after you take damage, which forces you to eat hits before your damage spikes. Soyama’s version triggers by dealing damage instead, so it comes online the instant you start attacking. That makes Soyama the stronger pick for both boss farming and PvP.

KamadoTaking damage from enemiesPvE only
RengokuAdds burn damage insteadWeaker alternative

Rengoku is a fallback if you cannot roll Combat Intuition, but its extra burn damage does not match the raw scaling of the Soyama or Kamado perk.

Stack damage armor and accessories

Every gear slot can contribute either flat Additional Damage or an Additional Damage Factor multiplier, and both matter. The multiplier scales harder the higher your base damage climbs, so factor-heavy pieces pay off most on a maxed Nightfall weapon.

Skip the Nightfall Cape here. It leans into movement speed and stamina regen with no damage factor, so a Firstlight piece is the better use of that slot. The Firstlight Haori also brings a large +360 Max Health cushion for boss fights.

Accessible alternative loadout

If the full Nightfall and Firstlight set is out of reach, this mix of boss drops gets you most of the way. Each piece is a Mythic (or Legendary) with a 3% drop rate from its listed boss.

For pure multiplier value, Flame Haori Style 1 carries a strong 1.07x factor that outperforms Style 2 once your base damage is high. Style 2 leans on a small +1 flat bonus instead, which scales worse on a Nightfall weapon.

Skill tree damage nodes

The character skill tree holds Additional Damage nodes worth a small amount each, and they cost a lot of points to fill. Investing somewhere around 150 to 170 points nets roughly +3 Additional Damage in total, so the return is modest compared to weapon and gear scaling.

Because the damage payout is thin, spreading some of those points into Block Points, Max Health, and stamina regen is often the more practical call, especially for survivability in longer boss fights. Take the damage nodes if you want the absolute ceiling, but do not sacrifice all your defensive utility for them.

Push damage further with mastery

Weapon and style mastery add another layer of damage on top of your gear. Boss farming is the fastest way to build it, and Kasugai Crow quests point you at high-value targets. Defeating Akazo at max level, for example, awarded 4,200 Serpent and Sword mastery in a single kill.

Completing Ougahara dungeons also feeds mastery, and the shop sells a 2x mastery boost lasting 30 minutes for Robux or Ore if you want to speed up a farming session.

How to confirm your damage is working

Check the floating damage numbers on any boss or trainee. A finished setup with a Tier 3 +10 Nightfall weapon and full damage gear lands roughly 110 M1 damage per swing without any clan buff. When Combat Intuition is active, those same hits climb above 126, which you can watch happen in real time against targets like Gyorei Himejima or Sanemi.

If your numbers sit lower, the usual gaps are a weapon that is not yet at Tier 3 +10, a damage-factor gear slot filled with a utility piece like the Nightfall Cape, or Combat Intuition simply not being triggered yet. With Soyama, keep attacking and the buff comes online on its own, then the M1 total jumps to confirm the build is doing its job.
