Thunder Breathing in Project Slayers 2 is not sold at a village stall. You unlock it by finding Thunder Trainer Zentaro on top of Verdant Cliffs, a long run and a vertical climb away from the starting area, and then clearing the training tasks he hands out.
Quick answer: Run from Bamboo Grove past the Serpent King Obari event, drop down the waterfall in Wilderness, climb to the summit of Verdant Cliffs, and talk to Thunder Trainer Zentaro.
Thunder Breathing requirements in Project Slayers 2
Bring the movement abilities and the materials before you start walking. The trip is mostly climbing, and turning back for horns is a long detour.
- At least level 4, so you have double jump and wall climbing.
- Roughly 7 to 10 demon horns.
- Wen for the training cost.
- Zentaro is marked Lvl. 25+, so expect his tasks to be tuned for that range.
Without double jump and wall climb, the tree trunk and cliff face sections of the route cannot be completed at all.
Thunder Trainer Zentaro location: route to Verdant Cliffs
The path runs from the shrine area out through Bamboo Grove, across Wilderness, and up the rock faces of Verdant Cliffs. It is a genuinely long run, so keep moving and do not stop to fight everything along the way.
If you fall partway up, you land on the lower ledges rather than the bottom in most spots, so check your footing before restarting the whole climb.
How to confirm you found the trainer
Walk up to the NPC on the summit. The name plate reads Thunder Trainer Zentaro with a Lvl. 25+ tag, and a Thunder Trainer Chat prompt appears when you are close enough to interact. If that prompt is not showing, you are either on the wrong ledge or standing too far back.
Zentaro’s Thunder Breathing training quest list
Talking to Zentaro opens the Thunder Breathing Training list. These are the tasks you work through to earn the style.

- Defeat the Thunder Trainee
Each entry ticks off in the quest list as you finish it, which is the clearest sign the training is registering. The final task sends you against the Thunder Trainee rather than another meditation prompt, so treat it as a fight and go in with health items.
Butterfly Mansion location and what it is used for
The Butterfly Mansion, also shown as the Butterfly Estate, is the slayer corps training facility, and players route to it while working through training steps like meditating and push-ups. On the original Project Slayers map it sits east of Jinger’s Home, north of Kabiwaru Village.
Beyond training, the mansion functions as a small hub. These are the things you can do on the grounds.
- Meditate and do push-ups for breathing style training.
- Buy gourds.
- Spar with other slayers on the grounds.
- Buy slayer uniform variants.
Two uniforms sell there for 2000 Wen each. The Wind Pillar Uniform gives +5% speed, and the Stone Pillar Uniform gives +100 max health. The Mizunoto Slayers wandering the grounds are neutral and will not attack unless you hit them first, with the exception of the ones posted near Giyu south of the mansion.
Thunder Breathing moveset and keybinds
Once the style is unlocked, the Thunder skills appear in your Skill Tree menu. Five moves make up the set.

Godspeed is the one worth learning early. It doubles as a traversal tool, which makes repeat trips across Wilderness and Bamboo Grove noticeably shorter than the first run on foot.
Zenitsu boss drops for Thunder users
The Zenitsu boss spawns back down off the mountain, so drop from the summit and navigate toward his spawn area rather than retracing the climb. His drop table is short and heavily weighted against you.

At those rates, plan on several runs. The skill drop is the same rarity as the katana, so farming him is a long-term goal rather than a single-session task.
Once Zentaro’s task list is cleared and the Thunder skills show up in your Skill Tree, the style is yours permanently. From that point the only reason to make the Verdant Cliffs climb again is the view, since everything else Thunder-related happens back down on the main map.
