Project Slayers 2: Serpent Breathing Location and How to Obtain It

Level 25, 20 Demon Horns, 5 Beast Cores and Wall Climb, plus the exact cliff route to Obari’s alcove.

In Project Slayers 2, the game calls Serpent Breathing “Snake Breathing,” and it is among the Part 2 Breathing Styles. Its trainer is not found in any village. Obari is lodged in a cliff above the starting region, so you must approach from directly above. The journey itself is brief, but the list of requirements is not.

Quick answer: Get to level 25, obtain Wall Climb, gather 20 Demon Horns and 5 Beast Cores, and scale the cliffs separating Windy Peak from Bamboo Grove until you reach Obari’s alcove.

Serpent Breathing requirements in Project Slayers 2

Reaching Obari and being eligible to train with him are different matters. The NPC can be approached by any character, but instruction remains locked until both the level requirement and the entire material fee are satisfied.

Character level25General progression
Demon Horns20Demon spawns (see below)
Beast Cores5Beast Born Demons
Wall ClimbUnlockedSkill Tree, Character branch

Every breathing style uses level 25 as its progression requirement, including Serpent. Wall Climb is the commonly missed requirement. Obari’s alcove is far above the ground, and no path reaches it without that movement skill. Before leaving spawn, open the menu, select Skill Tree beneath Character, and verify that the ability is enabled.

Obari’s dialogue lists the cost he is currently asking for, so a quick scouting trip before you farm confirms the exact numbers for your version of the game.

Where to farm 20 Demon Horns and 5 Beast Cores

The two materials come from opposite corners of the map, and neither drops anywhere near the cliff you are about to climb. Clear both before you start the ascent so you are not repeating the route with an empty bag.

Demon Horns

Spawn at Bamboo Grove, find the NPC Chaka near the red torii gate, and follow the path that runs into the Oni cave. The nameless Oni inside drop Demon Horns, and 20 of them means several passes. The demons in the snowy region west of the bear area work as an alternative, and since a single demon can drop two horns, roughly ten clean kills covers the requirement. The demons near the waterfall are another steady spot.

Traversing the snowy path00:32Traversing the snowy path
The snowy mountain path inflicts freezing damage, and the campfires along the road grant cold immunity while you farm. Shown at 00:32 in Ishiken’s video.

Beast Cores

Beast Born Demons near Mistfall Harbor are the source of Beast Cores. Follow the top-screen compass north toward the villages, defeat demons in those zones, and continue until you collect five cores. Bringing a horse helps considerably, since crossing the map takes the most time.

At Windy Peak, Kazu offers a civilian quest involving four spy NPCs, each named Civilian. Accepting it costs almost nothing while you are passing through the area.

Serpent Trainer Obari location: The climbing route

Use Windy Peak and Bamboo Grove to orient yourself toward Obari, who is embedded in the cliffs above the starting region. The route involves very little sideways travel; climbing upward accounts for almost all of it. Watch the HUD area name as you go, since it changes through Safe zone, Wilderness and Bamboo Grove.

Use the map to verify that you are in the grassy area between the Windy Peak and Bamboo Grove markers. Turn toward the red torii gate, pass through it while running south, and check that the HUD changes from Safe zone to Wilderness.
Take the grassy descent in the direction of Bamboo Grove. Using a dash skill shortens this section by several seconds, and no stop along the route is necessary.

Do not enter the bamboo yet. Instead, turn right toward the stone cliffs beside the path, close to the Mother Bear spawn. When the HUD changes back to Wilderness, you should be facing the correct cliff.
When a surface displays the T Wall Climb prompt, hold the climb input and ascend the first stone tier. You will arrive at an elevated grassy platform. Use ledges to split up extended ascents instead of clinging continuously, because the stamina gauge decreases during the climb.
Continue upward beyond the large tree that grows from a grassy ledge. It serves as a dependable midpoint marker and verifies that you are using the proper rock face.

Move across to the neighbouring cliff, then ascend until you reach the rocky plateau. Because the upper terrain is hazy, judge your progress by elevation instead of compass direction.
Running Towards Stone Sanctuary00:50Running Towards Stone Sanctuary

Find the narrow stone opening along the upper rock formation, then descend through it. Obari is tucked into the protected nook beyond it, identifiable by his black-and-white striped haori instead of standing exposed at the summit.

When the plateau appears vacant, zoom the camera out and make a circuit before concluding that you chose the wrong route. The alcove cannot be seen from straight overhead, and Obari is generally only a few metres above or below your position when he appears absent. Rejoining the server resolves an area that failed to load correctly.

How to confirm you found the right NPC

The location is confirmed when the NPC’s nameplate shows Serpent Trainer Obari and stepping onto the ledge produces a Chat interaction prompt. No other route check is required. Afterward, you can jump directly from the alcove to the spawn area beneath it, making the return quick once the path is familiar.

Obari’s training questline and how to verify the unlock

Reaching the alcove does not hand you the style, and neither does paying the materials. Talk to Obari with the level and items in hand to begin training, then work through his objectives in order. Most of them are training minigames issued one after another, including a stint of Butterfly Mansion training.

The final objective is a duel with the Serpent Trainee. Win that battle to complete Obari’s quest and unlock Snake Breathing as an available style. If it still does not appear in your list, the questline remains incomplete.

Serpent Breathing moveset, keybinds and passive

Serpent’s movements are modeled on a snake. Its attacks twist through curved paths instead of travelling in straight lines, while the techniques depict white serpents following the sword. The blade color is Lavender, although the game displays the effects as white instead of the anime’s pale purple.

KeyMoveEffect
ZWinding SerpentLeaping serpent strike, then curved follow-ups
XVenom FangsForward flurry of slashes
CCoil ChokeAoE around you, hits multiple targets
VTwin-headed SerpentDash with two staggered arc attacks
BSlithering SerpentTwisting charge through several targets

The move titles in use are community-created rather than official. The passive determines how the kit functions: most techniques reach their full form only after your first attack connects. Missing that opening hit weakens the follow-ups sharply—Z drives the serpent into the ground, C becomes one rising slash, and V and B turn into nothing more than a dash.

Serpent Breathing was announced before any other Part 2 Breathing Style. Much of the available footage comes from closed-beta versions, so updates may alter how individual moves behave.

Serpent King Obari boss drops

Serpent King Obari is a separate encounter from the trainer and serves as the boss associated with this style. His loot table supplies the cosmetic and weapon pieces for a Serpent build.

  • Serpent Haori
  • Slithering Serpent

Other breathing trainer locations for comparison

The game has eight breathing styles, while the demon progression side contains nine Blood Demon Arts. Level 25 is required for every style, but their material demands and travel routes can differ dramatically.

FlameRenguHouse by the red bridge, Mistfall Village
InsectShinoraButterfly Mansion main roof
StoneGyoreiLower path from the bear area
ThunderZentaroMountain route near the bear village
WaterUrokodakiUnderwater passage near Bamboo Grove
WindSaneriSnowy biome platform in the water
SoundTengaiIcevail Valley, snowy region

Thunder has the most similar journey to Serpent: from Bamboo Grove, players use double jumps and wall climbs across trees and rock faces to reach a mountain peak, and Wall Climb is mandatory. Insect presents the reverse situation, requiring an easy walk from Windy Peak to the Butterfly Estate; Shinora is easy to miss because he stands on a roof beside the purple wisteria tree. Wind requires 50 Demon Horns, while Water costs 5,000 Wen and 30 horns, making Serpent the inexpensive early option.

Blood Demon Arts follow a completely separate progression path. After completing Muzan’s questline and becoming a demon, you roll for an Art and then complete its individual obtainment quest; Blood Manipulation and Blood Sickle are two of the available choices.

The efficient sequence is straightforward: reach 25, invest a point in Wall Climb, defeat Oni and Beast Born Demons until you possess 20 Demon Horns and 5 Beast Cores, then start the ascent. If you reach the alcove without enough materials, you will have to climb that cliff again.
