A complete Thunder Breathing run in Project Slayers 2 traces the whole leveling curve, from the first bandit quest in the starter village to the game’s level 225 cap. The character clears early story content up to roughly level 141, then shifts almost entirely to world boss farming to close out the final stretch. Along the way it unlocks the Thunder Breathing style, passes Final Selection to become a Slayer, and crafts the mythic Thundercloud Katana.

Quick answer: The run hits the level 225 max by questing to about level 141, then rotating world bosses such as Gyutai, Nezura, Enru and the Reaper on a private server until the cap and Slayer Progress Lv 4.

Thunder Breathing in Project Slayers 2

Thunder Breathing (Kaminari no Kokyu) is a Slayer-path breathing style built around fast gap-closers and burst damage. Its opener, Thunderclap and Flash, dashes in and sets up a stun, which is why the kit reads as strong against slower styles in duels. Community placement puts it at Tier S, with the trade-off that sustain drops if the opening move misses and later forms have short reach.

The style has six forms in total: Thunderclap and Flash, Rice Spirit, Thunder Swarm, Distant Thunder, Heat Lightning, and Rumble and Flash. Moves are bought in the skill tree using Skill Points and Mastery. The Agatsuma clan (Mythic) pairs best with it, matching the yellow lightning look the run’s character wears.

Unlocking Thunder Breathing: level 25, demon horns, and six training tasks

Thunder Breathing opens at level 25. Reaching the trainer requires a Wen fee (community listings put this between 5,000 and 10,000) and a delivery of 10 demon horns, which drop from the demons inside the waterfall cave near Bamboo Grove. The trainer sits up the slope past the starter village in the Windy Peak highlands, reached by climbing tree branches, rocks and cliff ledges.

Accept the unlock quest, then perform these six drills in order: meditation, cup tracking, push-ups, aim training, boulder splitting, and defeating the Thunder Trainee. Completing the whole sequence awards the style and unlocks its skill tree.

One naming note is worth flagging. In this run the trainer who sets the six tasks appears as Kuwajima, while community references also list a Thunder trainer called Zentaro in Windy Peak. In the same run, Zentaro instead shows up later as a boss who drops the Thunder Katana, so the two roles can be easy to confuse.

The level 1 to 225 progression path

The early game leans on standard Slayer story quests, which carry the character comfortably to about level 141 before the pace changes. The route runs through the starter village, bear country, a demon cave, Final Selection, and the snowy Iceveil region.

The first levels come from Krue’s bandit quests in Windy Peak, including the boss Zuko, before the character crosses through the red torii gate toward Bamboo Grove.

Passing Final Selection by beating the Hand Demon is the milestone that turns the character into an official Slayer, granting the uniform and title. After that, the demon horn grind and the push into the snowy highlands set up the mid-game.

The run leveled through the Iceveil snow zone without taking the usual snow tick damage, an effect tied to the early access version’s mechanics rather than a permanent state of the area.

Thunder Katana to Thundercloud Katana

The Thunder Katana drops from repeated fights against the boss Zentaro, which is what pushes the character to around level 103. That weapon then feeds into the mythic Thundercloud Katana, crafted at Blacksmith Togane. The upgrade combines several materials gathered from dungeons and bosses.

  • 1 Thunder Katana
  • 500 Metal Scraps
  • 10 Mythic Refinement Gems
  • 300 Silk Threads
  • 90,000 Wen

Mythic Refinement Gems are the tightest bottleneck here. Selling duplicate mythic drops from world bosses is the efficient way to stock them, rather than farming for the gems directly. Dungeon runs up to floor 46 supply the crafting mats, and the finished Thundercloud Katana in the run is brought up to a +2 refinement.

Reaching max level 225 through world boss farming

Once story quests dry up around level 141, the remaining climb is almost pure world boss farming. Dungeon floors and bosses Gyutai and Dutai carry the character to level 200, at which point Slayer Progress is maxed to Lv 4 using accumulated Coin Pouches. The final levels come from a continuous rotation of world bosses.

On a private server, the run cycles Dutai, Enru, Sumari/Reaper and Nezura without the multiplayer debuffs a shared server would apply, driving the last levels from 223 to 224 and finally Lv 225 (Max Level). The on-screen profile confirms the finish with a level 225 Slayer showing Slayer Progress Lv 4 (Max).

A displayed update changes how private-server boss hunts pay out. Crow and Muzan hunt rewards on private servers now scale with player count, matching public servers, at 50% solo, 75% with two players, and full rewards with three or more.

By the end, the run has everything a maxed Thunder Breathing character carries: the level cap, top Slayer rank, the Thundercloud Katana, and enough materials on hand to start eyeing the Nightfall Katana’s higher tiers. It is a clear picture of what the full grind demands rather than a shortcut, since the last third of the journey is defined by boss rotations rather than quest variety.
