Dying to a late-game boss in Crimson Desert is painful enough without having to scramble back to full health afterward. Regular Palmar Pills let you self-revive, but the Refined Palmar Pill brings you back at 100% HP — no frantic dodge-rolling or food-stuffing required. The catch is that the recipe doesn't show up until Chapter 9, and farming the materials efficiently demands some prep work. Once that prep is done, though, you can churn these out almost endlessly.
Quick answer: Craft a Refined Palmar Pill at any Cauldron using 1× Water, 1× Palmar Leaf, 1× Palmar Bug, and 1× Long Horn (or Ginseng, or Bear's Gallbladder). You need the Kuku Gardener's Pack and Kuku Insect Gatherer's Pack to farm leaves and bugs at scale.

Refined Palmar Pill recipe and ingredients
| Ingredient | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Water | 1 | Sold at most shops; also free from the well at Hernand Castle |
| Palmar Leaf | 1 | Gathered from green patches near Mountain of Frozen Souls; low success rate without Kuku Gardener's Pack |
| Palmar Bug | 1 | Found in the same green patches; each bug occupies its own inventory slot |
| Long Horn or Ginseng or Bear's Gallbladder | 1 | Long Horn is the easiest — obtained by skinning long-horned deer near Scholarstone |
The recipe itself becomes available during Chapter 9 of the main story. However, you can also learn it organically by combining the correct ingredients at a Cauldron three separate times — the game will register the recipe automatically without you ever picking up the written version.
Required Kuku Packs and how to build them
Palmar Leaves have a notoriously low manual gather rate. Without the right Kuku Pack equipped, most attempts simply fail. Two specialized packs solve this problem and also vacuum up bugs while you run through gathering nodes.

Kuku Insect Gatherer's Pack
| Material | Source |
|---|---|
| Kuku Pack ×1 | Base pack (crafted or found) |
| Abyss Cell ×3 | Various Abyss encounters |
| Power Core – Ore of Rescipience | Stone worm enemies in Greenfield Highlands or the Abandoned Mine near Ashclaw Castle |
| Power Core – Crown of Shadows | Bush Monsters at Black Wall in Pailune |
Kuku Gardener's Pack
| Material | Source |
|---|---|
| Kuku Pack ×1 | Base pack (crafted or found) |
| Abyss Cell ×3 | Various Abyss encounters |
| Power Core – Ore of Rescipience ×1 | Stone worm enemies in Greenfield Highlands or the Abandoned Mine near Ashclaw Castle |
| Core of Mortification | Bonus puzzle at the Sanctum of Mortification |
Building both packs is the single biggest time investment in the entire process, but it only needs to happen once. After that, every farming run takes just a few minutes.

Farming Palmar Leaves and Palmar Bugs
Step 1: Fast travel to the area near the waterfall by the Mountain of Frozen Souls. There is a fast travel point close by, so getting there is quick.

Step 2: Clear as much inventory space as possible before you start. Palmar Bugs each take up an individual slot, so bag space fills fast.
Step 3: Equip the Kuku Gardener's Pack first, activate it, and run through the green patches on the ground. Collecting herbs first means the Palmar Leaves stack neatly, leaving more room for bugs afterward.
Step 4: Swap to the Kuku Insect Gatherer's Pack, activate it, and run the same route again. You will also pick up Centipedes — drop them if you don't need the extra clutter.

One pass through this area typically yields a large haul of both leaves and bugs, enough for dozens of pills.
Farming Long Horns (easiest fourth ingredient)
Of the three options for the final slot — Long Horn, Ginseng, or Bear's Gallbladder — Long Horn is by far the simplest to get in bulk.
Step 1: Fast travel to Scholarstone. As soon as you load in, look north. A group of deer should be visible nearby.

Step 2: Look for a buck with visibly long horns among the herd. If none have spawned, simply stand on the fast travel point and re-travel to the same location. There is no loading screen for this re-travel, so you can reset the spawn almost instantly.
Step 3: Hit the long-horned deer with three arrows to bring it down, then skin it. Each deer drops 3–4 Long Horns. Be careful not to hit any livestock in the area — that counts as a crime.

Getting Water
Water is the least complicated ingredient. Most vendors sell it, and you can grab unlimited amounts for free from the well inside Hernand Castle. Stock up whenever you pass through town so you always have a reserve ready.
Crafting at a Cauldron
With all four ingredients in your inventory, visit any Cauldron in the world. Place 1× Water, 1× Palmar Leaf, 1× Palmar Bug, and 1× Long Horn (or one of the alternatives) into the Cauldron to produce a single Refined Palmar Pill. If you haven't formally found the recipe scroll yet, repeating this combination three times will teach the recipe permanently.
Because every material in the loop is renewable and farmable in minutes, there is no practical cap on how many Refined Palmar Pills you can carry into a boss fight. A short session at the Mountain of Frozen Souls waterfall plus a few deer resets near Scholarstone is enough to stockpile more revives than most encounters will ever require.
