Wilhelm is the newest legendary-grade MAU landing in RF Online Next, and it is not something you pull from a banner or buy outright. It sits behind a single achievement tied to an older mech you probably already own, which means the real work starts long before the unit shows up in your hangar.

Quick answer: Complete the “Kraken Level Up Complete” achievement by raising your Kraken MAU to level 120. That hands you the MAU Wilhelm Blueprint, which is the only listed route to the legendary Wilhelm.

How to unlock MAU Wilhelm

Wilhelm is added to the [New] > [MAU] > [Growth] tab, and the unit itself is gated by a blueprint rather than a summon. The blueprint is the reward for finishing the “Kraken Level Up Complete” achievement, and that achievement only ticks over when your Kraken hits its maximum level of 120.

Kraken is a Physical-type MAU, so it is a unit most players already have sitting at a low level in the hangar. There is no shortcut around the level requirement. The entire cost of Wilhelm is the cost of maxing Kraken, which is why the update is effectively a very large resource sink dressed up as a new mech.

Kraken level 120 cost and stat gains

Pushing a level 23 Kraken all the way to 120 in one go bills out at 221,900 Arcane Nodes and 125,100,000 gold. Your own total will be lower if your Kraken already sits above level 23, but the node figure is the number that decides how long this takes.

StatLv. 23Lv. 120
MAU Durability7593,970
MAU ATK59350
MAU DEF69405
MAU ACC41235
Arcane Nodes221,900
Gold125,100,000

The stat jump is real on its own, roughly five times the durability and six times the attack, so the Kraken you grind up is not dead weight once Wilhelm arrives. Gold is rarely the bottleneck here. Arcane Nodes are.

Leveling the Kraken from the Hangar

Open the main menu and head into the Hangar. This is where every Sacred Weapon you own is stored, split across separate tabs.

Switch to the MAU tab and select Kraken from the unit list. The panel on the right shows its current level and its Physical type tag.
Open the level-up screen and drag the level slider to 120. The interface recalculates as you drag, showing the full MAU Enhancement Node requirement, your current Arcane Node balance against that requirement, and the gold cost printed on the confirm button.
Confirm the level-up once you have the nodes. You can also do this in smaller chunks by sliding to a lower target level, which is the practical approach while you are still farming materials.
Check the achievement list once Kraken reads Lv. 120. “Kraken Level Up Complete” should register as finished, and the MAU Wilhelm Blueprint arrives as its reward. Wilhelm then becomes available through the Growth tab under the MAU category.

Drag the slider to 120 before you commit to anything. It is the fastest way to see the exact node and gold gap between where you are now and the achievement, without spending a thing.

Where the Arcane Nodes come from

Node income is the whole project. Farming zones such as the Peaceful Android Junkyard floors can be run in auto-combat, which keeps the character clearing mobs on a timer while you are away from the screen. That is how most players will close a gap measured in six figures.

The 100 Days Eve Arcane’s Legacy event runs alongside all of this and pays out based on how many Arcane Nodes you have consumed in total, with a leaderboard tracking the biggest spenders on each server. Consumption tiers are shown as progress bars, so a player sitting at 18,382 of a 32,000 tier can see exactly how far off the next payout is. Basic missions in the same event hand back Arcane Node (Bound), which feeds straight back into MAU levelling.

What else the update adds

Wilhelm headlines the patch, but it is not the only change going in. The maintenance notice also covers an expansion to Item Collection Registration Effects and a new costume. Servers go down during the listed window, and the client updates through the usual Google Play listing or your platform of choice once maintenance ends.

  • Maintenance window: 9/15 (Tue) 18:00 – 21:00 (UTC-5), which is 9/16 (Wed) 02:00 – 05:00 (UTC+3)
  • New legendary MAU Wilhelm added to the Growth tab
  • Item Collection Registration Effect expanded
  • New costume added

Separately, server and guild transfer windows were posted for 9/20 (Sun) 22:00 through 9/21 (Mon) 06:00 (UTC-5), with the guild transfer deadline running later than the server one. Transfer schedules can shift, so treat those dates as provisional until they are reconfirmed.

MAUs already running in other regions

Wilhelm is not the end of the MAU pipeline. The Taiwan and Korea builds of the game are further ahead, and a few units from those versions give a preview of what the global roster is likely to pick up next.

Tempest

A green and gold force-type frame that was flagged as a legendary reward during global pre-registration and later listed among the additions in an earlier global patch. It leans on magic damage rather than raw physical output.

Aegis

Marked EC-016 on the chassis, Aegis is the heavy end of the physical lineup, built around thick plating and oversized shields rather than mobility. It has not surfaced on the global build.

Annihilator

Live in the Taiwan and Korea versions, Annihilator is obtained through material conversion of high-tier epic equipment rather than an achievement. That makes it a different kind of grind from Wilhelm, one that rewards hoarding spare gear instead of raw farming hours.

For now, the only thing worth acting on is the node count. Every Arcane Node you bank between updates goes straight into the Kraken bar, and that bar is the only door Wilhelm comes through.
