Ethereal eggs are the top of the food chain in Ride a Pet, and they do not wait around. When a Black Hole, Cherub, or Solaris Egg drops onto the map, the game announces it at the top of everyone’s screen, and the first player to reach it and haul it home keeps it. All three share the same short list of spawn points, so learning that list once covers every Ethereal hunt you will ever run.
Quick answer: All three Ethereal eggs share six spawn areas — the Giant Tree, the waterfall cave, the cliffs outside it, the Forest–Desert cliff, the Pyramid, and the maze. Solaris also spawns at the grey mountain base.
Ethereal egg rules: spawn message, 8-minute reset, and the carry timer
Only one Ethereal egg sits on the map at a time, and the Black Hole Egg shows up far more often than the Cherub Egg. Eggs across the world reset every 8 minutes, so a spot you cleared two minutes ago is not worth rechecking until the next cycle. You can join from the Ride a Pet experience page, and servers cap at six players, which keeps the competition small but immediate.
Picking the egg up is only half the job. Once it is in your hands, an “Egg Will Break” bar starts ticking and you have roughly 20 to 21 seconds to get it back to your plot. Spawn points sit a long way from the hub, so a slow mount means watching the egg shatter with the ranch in view.

The Solaris Egg arrived with the Mutations Update and slots between the other two on luck. Black Hole Eggs are the usual source of the T-Rex, while Solaris Eggs are where the Phoenix comes from.

Giant Tree
Starting at the central plot, go around the Sell Shop’s rear and continue straight into the jungle. The treetop can be seen from the main hub, making the direction easy to identify. Climb to the top, then inspect the little room inside the trunk near the crown.
Once you are inside the hollow, sweep the wooden platforms, then step back out and scan the branches. Several branches ring the top, and two of them sit slightly below the rest — those two are easy to fly past without noticing an egg sitting on them.
Cave behind the waterfall
Head behind the Track Shop and walk straight until you hit the river, then follow the water upstream. Ignore the first two small waterfalls you pass. The one you want has a bridge next to it and a cave hidden behind the falling water.
Inside, check the raised platforms on both walls and then the corners at the far end. Visibility is the problem here, not distance, so keep the camera pulled back and sweep both sides rather than running straight down the middle.
Cliffs outside the cave exit
Follow the cave until it ends, then exit through the wide opening. Outside, check two spawn points: one on the cliff immediately behind the opening and another on the cliff on its left. Because a tree beside the stone wall blocks part of the area, look behind it before ruling the location out.
Forest–Desert cliff and the grey mountain
With the cave entrance ahead of you, move left beyond the campfire and its three patched green tents. A ledge overlooking the Desert biome is ahead; drop from it and turn around. Two spawn points are on the cliff bordering the Forest biome, along the beach’s right side. Check the narrow gaps in these rocks, where a Black Hole Egg often appears.
Only Solaris has the grey mountain spot. Leave the Ranch area toward the waterfall, then stay with the water upstream rather than going into the cave. When the water ends, keep close to the mountain on your right and use the first opening to turn left. A Solaris Egg there is visible from far away.
Pyramid and the maze below it
The Pyramid sits in the Desert biome toward the left side of the map. Go behind the Track Shop, cross the river, continue past the three green tents, and keep straight until the sand starts. Inside the Pyramid, the egg spawns in the small opening among the stone corridors.
To the right of the Pyramid’s opening there is a small pond. Jump in and you drop into a maze, where an egg can sit in any corner. A workable path from the entrance runs behind the ladder, first right, straight to the torch, right again, straight, right to the wall, right at the dead end, then left to a stone and torch where eggs commonly appear.
The maze eats your carry timer. If you pull an egg out of there, you are starting the 21-second countdown from the furthest point on the route, so only dive in with your fastest mount equipped.
Fast sweep route when the spawn message appears
Landmark checkpoints worth clearing on the way
Beyond the main spawn areas, a wider checkpoint list runs four spots per zone across the Overworld hub, Giant Tree, Desert, and Waterfall. Most sit at shops and egg stands you already run past, so they cost almost nothing to glance at mid-route.

The Overworld four sit inside one hub loop, so if you are standing there when the message fires, clear all four before travelling. In the Giant Tree, work top to bottom — Hidden Roots under the main trunk is the one people forget, and gravity makes the descent cheap. Sandstorm Ridge and the Ancient Pyramid both sit off flat ground, so approach the pyramid at an angle that shows you several faces at once instead of circling it on foot.
Eternal Radar: Skipping the search entirely
The Gear Shop stocks a tier of radars — Royal, Magic, and Eternal — and only the Eternal Radar tracks Ethereal eggs. One use costs $30,000,000 and points straight at the exact location of every Ethereal egg currently in the world, which removes the guesswork from Black Hole, Cherub, and Solaris hunts alike.
The catch is stock. It is the most expensive gear in the game and rarely appears in the shop, though it can also be bought with Robux. Before spending a use, confirm with the Eggo NPC that the egg is still on the map — a radar pointed at an egg someone already grabbed is money gone.
Best pets for Ethereal egg runs
Speed is the whole mechanic. A flying pet beats a ground pet by a wide margin here, because ground mounts have to navigate obby sections, cliffs, and tree platforming to reach half these spots. The Phoenix is the pick if you have one; a Cerberus-tier ground mount is the fallback.
- Equip and mount your fastest pet before a spawn happens, not after.
- Pull the camera back far enough to survey the area around tall structures in one sweep.
- Stay mounted for the entire sweep — hitting Dismount mid-route throws away your speed advantage.
- Plan the return trip before you touch the egg, since the timer starts on pickup.
How to confirm the egg is yours
You have it when the “Egg Will Break” bar disappears and the egg lands on your plot ready to place and hatch. Until that moment, the egg is still in transit and still losing time. Once it is down, it shows up alongside your other eggs, such as the Galaxy Egg, and you can start the hatch.
After checking every spot without finding an egg, another player in the server reached it first. Eggs reset across the map every 8 minutes, so the next announcement will come soon; improve your mount and route instead of searching longer.
