Ride Assault Anomaly Commission in Neverness to Everness: Headless Rider Location and Raging Flames Arc

Ride Assault is an Anomaly Commission in Neverness to Everness that pits you against the Headless Rider, a flame-wreathed biker boss in the Bridge Crossings district. Clearing it once awards the S-Rank Raging Flames Arc, the signature weapon used by Hathor and Nanally, plus a hidden cosmetic effect that turns the Novis ST-X 950 motorcycle into a blue-flaming "ghost" bike when the Arc is equipped on an active party member.

Quick answer: Reach City Tycoon Level 3, drive a four-wheeled car after 20:00 in-game along Coastal Highway Z42 between Davidia Avenue and Fox Window Street, chase the Headless Rider into the tunnel portal, and defeat the boss inside the Anomaly Realm.

Prerequisites for Ride Assault

The encounter is gated behind early City Tycoon progression. You must finish the Prologue, unlock the Garage, and push the City Tycoon Guide to Level 3 so that the racing mini-game and full vehicle dealership are active. Without Level 3, the Anomaly will not spawn even if you reach the road at the correct time.

You also need a four-wheeled vehicle. The starting scooter and any motorcycle will not trigger the spawn, despite the in-game commission text suggesting otherwise. The cheapest qualifying car from the Regalia Vehicle Dealership in the New Herland District is sufficient.

How to trigger the Ride Assault encounter

Step 1: Open the phone menu and adjust the in-game clock to a time after 20:00 if it is currently daytime. Night is required for the Wertheimer Index fluctuation warning to appear.

Step 2: Pull a four-wheeled car from your garage and fast-travel to the Bridge Crossings district. Head to Coastal Highway Z42, the long stretch between Davidia Avenue and Fox Window Street.

Step 3: Drive along the highway in the indicated direction. As you approach the trigger zone, an on-screen prompt warns of a Wertheimer Index fluctuation, blue flames erupt on the road, and the Headless Rider spawns ahead of your car.

Step 4: Chase the Rider down the highway. If your car is slow, the Rider will idle until you close the distance. Follow it into the tunnel, where the road becomes a portal of blue flames that pulls you into the Anomaly Realm.

You know the trigger worked when the Anomaly notification appears at the top of the screen, and the Headless Rider materializes from the air. If neither happens after a full pass through the highway segment, you are either in the wrong vehicle type, before 20:00, or have not reached City Tycoon Level 3.

How to beat the Headless Rider

Inside the Anomaly Realm the Headless Rider becomes a single-phase boss with a single health bar. The fight scales with your Hunter Level (it commonly appears around Level 32+), and most attacks are heavily telegraphed. The two mechanics that matter most are parries and dodge counters.

The Rider chains physical strings that end in a parryable swing. Time a basic attack against the highlighted strike to stagger the boss and open a damage window. Outside of parries, watch for red flashes and use Critical Dodge to avoid damage and immediately counter.

When the boss reaches a low HP threshold, it rides around the arena and sends out phantom motorcycles that charge along straight prediction lines. Step out of each line as it tracks across the ground and continue dodging until the phantom phase ends, then resume your attack rotation.

Two team setups handle the fight comfortably:

Unlock the blue flame bike effect

The Raging Flames Arc carries a hidden cosmetic interaction with one specific motorcycle. Equip the Arc on any character that is currently in your active party formation, then ride the Novis ST-X 950, a sport bike sold at the Regalia Vehicle Dealership in the New Herland District for 250,000 Fons. Blue flames automatically appear around the wheels while you drive.

The effect requires the Arc-holder to be slotted into the active party, not just owned. The flames do not appear on the starting scooter or any other vehicle, only on the Novis ST-X 950.

Common reasons the Anomaly does not spawn

  • Riding a bike, scooter, or any two-wheeled vehicle instead of a car.
  • In-game clock is set before 20:00.
  • City Tycoon progression is below Level 3, so the Anomaly Commission has not been registered.
  • Driving through a different stretch of Bridge Crossings rather than the Coastal Highway Z42 segment between Davidia Avenue and Fox Window Street.

Once the commission is cleared, the Raging Flames Arc is permanent in your inventory and can be transferred between Lakshana damage dealers as new characters join your roster, with Hathor and Nanally being the strongest current users.
