Ghost Driver drops you onto packed city highways with one goal, which is to drive as fast as possible without wrecking. Every close pass through traffic earns cash, and cash is what unlocks and tunes faster cars. The trick to progressing quickly is knowing exactly where the money comes from and which upgrades matter before you spend a single dollar.
Quick answer: Drive at top speed and barely miss oncoming cars to build a near-miss combo, which multiplies your cash payout. Save that cash for engine and weight upgrades first, and claim the free starter car by playing 30 minutes while liking, favoriting, and joining the group.
Farm cash with the near-miss combo
The single most reliable way to make money is the near-miss combo. Drive through traffic at the highest speed you can hold, then skim past other cars as closely as possible without touching them. Each clean pass adds to a combo you can watch at the top of the screen, and the longer you keep it alive, the higher the multiplier climbs.
Speed feeds directly into that multiplier. The faster you travel while stringing together near misses, the larger your total payout becomes. One crash resets the combo, so smooth, controlled weaving beats reckless swerving every time.
This same activity also earns XP, which raises your overall level. Since higher levels unlock better upgrade stages, grinding the combo pays off twice.
Other ways to earn cash
Beyond the combo, a few extra sources help top up your balance, though most fade in value once your combo earnings ramp up.
Daily and weekly quests. Open them with the black exclamation-mark button in the bottom-left of the screen. Tasks usually ask you to drive a set distance, hit a target speed, hold a high top speed, or simply play for a while. Weekly quests take longer but pay more. For the speed-based ones, cross to the empty side of the highway on foot first, then spawn your car so you can accelerate on a clear road with no traffic in the way.
Player races. Drive into the yellow circle to the right of the dealership, beneath the fastest lap leaderboard, and wait for others to join. Your finishing position feeds into your combo multiplier, and winning outright hands you a larger cash bonus.
Robux shop. If you would rather skip the grind, cash can be bought directly through the yellow button in the bottom-left corner.
Codes. Redeemable codes hand out free cash. Open the shop with the button on the left, switch to the Rewards/Codes tab in the top-right, type a code exactly as written, and press Redeem. The cash lands instantly if the code is still active.

Claim the free starter car
New players can grab a solid free car almost immediately by finishing four simple tasks. Completing all of them unlocks the reward at a dedicated pickup point.
Upgrade and customize your car
To tune a car, drive around the back of the dealership and into one of the two customization garages. Inside, you can make performance, cosmetic, paint, and tint changes. Most cosmetic tweaks are free, apart from the underglow light, which costs Robux. Performance upgrades are paid for with cash.
Which upgrades to buy first
Prioritize raw speed. The engine, induction, fuel type, weight reduction, engine long block, and engine swap all make your car faster, so buy them whenever you can afford them. Brakes and tires come next since better traction and shorter stopping distances help you avoid crashes that would kill your combo. Drivetrain is optional.
Leave the transmission alone. Adjusting it means fiddling with individual gear ratios, and a bad setup can hurt the car’s performance. The default gearing works fine.
Upgrade stages and level requirements
Upgrades are split into stages, and each stage unlocks at a specific level. You earn XP the same way you earn cash, which is through races, quests, and extending your near-miss combo.
