Roblox Illegal Soccer Guide: Best Items and How to Score

Item drop rates, the two settings worth changing, and the tackle timing that steals possession at kickoff.

Illegal Soccer takes the normal rules of football and deletes them. There are no referees, players can be tackled whether or not they have the ball, and every match hands out weapons, jetpacks, grappling hooks, and oil spills. Servers hold eight players, so one good possession or one well-timed shotgun blast swings the whole game.

Quick answer: Enable Assisted Passes in the settings menu, then score by passing to a teammate standing past the AI goalkeeper instead of shooting into him. Carry Barricades for defense, and roll the Daily Shop for the Jetpack or Rocket Punch.

Controls and the settings to change first

Two toggles sit in the settings menu, and one of them matters a lot. Assisted Passes locks your pass onto a nearby teammate instead of firing the ball into empty space, which is what makes team play viable at all. Automatic Item Use is the second toggle, and it triggers your items for you rather than waiting on a keypress.

The default keybinds are worth memorizing before you queue, because tackling and item use both need to be instant.

Use the practice area to test items before a match

The practice field is the only place you can safely learn what an item does. Deploy a Forcefield, work out how long it holds, and take a few shots on an empty net to get a feel for kick power and the lob arc. Nothing here costs you a match result, so burn as much time as you need.

Joining a team and winning the kickoff

Matches start from the lobby, where you walk onto either the Join Red or Join Blue pad to pick a side. Between matches there is an intermission, which is the window to check your items and swap what you are carrying.

The kickoff itself has an exploit that costs nothing to run.

Position yourself near the center circle and wait out the kickoff countdown. Do not sprint at the ball early.
Let the opposing player take the first touch. You want them holding possession, not the loose ball.
Immediately press E to tackle. The steal puts you on the ball with their defense still turned around, which is the cleanest attacking position you will get all match.

How to score past the AI goalkeeper

Shooting straight at the goal is the least reliable way to score, because the AI keeper tracks the ball and reads head-on shots well. The dependable method is a pass. Get a teammate onto the goal line beside or behind the keeper, then feed them the ball so they tap it in from a position the keeper cannot cover.

When you have no passing option and have to shoot yourself, aim for the top corner furthest from wherever the keeper is currently standing. He commits to one side, so the diagonal corner behind him is the gap that stays open.

Tip: Q requests the ball. Use it when you have drifted into space near the box rather than standing next to the player who already has possession.

Defending with barricades and tackles

Barricades are the single best defensive tool in the game because they can be dropped directly in front of your own net. Placed there, they physically block incoming shots and force the attacking team to work around them instead of firing from range.

Tackling is the other half of defense, and it is deliberately unfair. You can tackle an opponent who is nowhere near the ball, so a player sprinting into space to receive a pass is a legitimate target. Time the E press for the moment they are closest to you rather than spamming it from a distance.

Daily Shop rolls and item drop rates

Items are not bought directly. You roll for them in the Daily Shop, either with Coins at 1,000 per roll or with Robux at 24 per roll when the discount is applied. Coins come from playing matches and from leveling up, so the free route is slower but does not run dry.

Best items to keep in your two slots

You only carry two items into a match, mapped to the 1 and 2 keys, so the choice matters. The Jetpack is the standout pick and also the hardest to pull at a 1 percent rate. Rocket Punch is the best of the realistically obtainable offensive items at 4.7 percent, and it clears defenders out of your path rather than just damaging them.

Below that, the common tier is genuinely useful. Barricades handle goal defense, and the Forcefield keeps you alive while dribbling through a crowd. If you are still building an inventory, a Barricades and Rocket Punch pairing covers both ends of the pitch.

None of this needs a big inventory to work. Assisted Passes plus a teammate parked past the keeper will out-score most lobbies on its own, and the kickoff tackle hands you the ball before the opposition has taken a second touch. Rolls are a long-term project, so spend Coins on them when you have them and let match wins fund the next one.
