Patch 1.0.0.5 is the first hotfix for RuneScape: Dragonwilds since its 1.0 launch, and it centers on stopping save loss, restoring multiplayer connections, and cleaning up game-breaking bugs in the Scorned Wilderness Raid. Jagex is releasing the notes ahead of deployment so players know what to expect, with console verification adding several days on top of the PC rollout.
Quick answer: Patch 1.0.0.5 is targeted for Friday, September 25th on PC and consoles. It removes the Edit Appearance button to stop save corruption, fixes multiplayer joins, and repairs raid, item, and platform bugs.
When Patch 1.0.0.5 goes live
Jagex is aiming to ship the hotfix on Friday, September 25th across PC and every console version. The team is submitting the build to the platform holders with the expectation that certification will take several days, so console delivery may trail the PC release.
The Friday timing is a deliberate choice. Earlier updates knocked crossplay offline, and the studio wants to avoid pushing a build that leaves Nintendo Switch 2 players with a disrupted weekend. You can confirm the update by checking your version number reads 1.0.0.5 after downloading.
Save corruption and the Edit Appearance button
The biggest problem this patch addresses is corruption affecting both world and character saves. Jagex is testing recovery methods that it hopes will restore missing saves, but those solutions need more investigation before they ship.
To limit the damage in the meantime, the Edit Appearance button is being removed from the game. Interacting with the wardrobe to change your appearance was identified as the most common trigger for corrupted saves, so the feature stays gone until a permanent fix is ready.
Restoring some saves resets the world to default settings. That means Custom or Creative worlds may have been converted into Normal worlds. If a save looks missing, check your Normal world save list before assuming it is lost.
Multiplayer and dedicated server fixes
Connection failures are a major focus. Players will no longer fail to join multiplayer worlds that already hold more than two people, and the patch specifically resolves the Xbox case where clients could not connect once two users were already in a world. Joining a modded dedicated server from a console will no longer corrupt a player save.
- Owners of console dedicated servers may now modify their server worlds.
- Multiplayer and dedicated-server sessions now support casting Sworn Servant again.
- The dedicated server search bar now carries a tooltip noting that queries are case sensitive.
- The “Self-hosted Server” button in Steam now takes you to the hosting tools.
Scorned Wilderness Raid repairs
The new raid receives three fixes for problems that disrupted repeat attempts and enabled content skips. On a second raid attempt, enemy AI will respawn properly, eliminating the need to restart everything to reset the encounter. Dying also no longer bypasses a respawn checkpoint, which had allowed players to reach the Coldra boss prematurely. Players may now use Summon Shelter within the Scorned Wilderness hub.

Item, crafting, and progression corrections
Several items that could not be managed properly are now fixed. Primordial Hearts, Imbued Granite Maul Heads, and Chinchompa Skulls can all be stored in chests or destroyed. The Abyssal Whip recipe now unlocks correctly for players with existing character saves, and Luminite Ore can be crafted into Divine Rocks.
Platform and hardware fixes
The hotfix carries a set of targeted changes for specific platforms, from upscaling support to crash prevention.
| Platform | Fix |
|---|---|
| Windows / Xbox Game Pass | DLSS and FSR upscaling added to Video Settings |
| Steam | HUD Scale options now labelled correctly |
| Xbox | Warning shown when a privacy setting blocks going online |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Video Capture now works as intended |
| PS5 | Crash fixed when creating a password-protected crossplay world |
| Controller | Processing Stations highlight the button under the cursor |
What is being held for Patch 1.0.1
Two known issues are being pushed to the 1.0.1 update rather than this hotfix. If you disconnect from your internet and then select Play Online, the game currently crashes instead of failing gracefully, and a fix for that is planned for 1.0.1. The same update will reset a handful of keybinds that can currently be remapped even though they were never meant to be rebindable.
Roadmap coming at RuneFest
Beyond the hotfix, Jagex plans to lay out its post-1.0 roadmap in more detail at RuneFest, with a closer look at 1.0.1 and October’s update. The published plan points to Kuldra’s Saga across 2026, including a Winter Update named Luminance, followed by the Blood Crystal Saga with monthly updates in 2027. For now, updating to 1.0.0.5 on release day and steering clear of the wardrobe is the safest way to protect your progress.
