Rye Cookie in Cookie Run: Crumble – Best DPS Build and Team Synergies

How an SR-rarity cookie hits top-tier damage at 5 stars, plus the runes, pet, and partners that carry her.

Rye Cookie is an SR-rarity Fire and Ranged cookie in Cookie Run: Crumble who reaches top-tier damage once you promote her to 5 stars. She is not an SSR or TSSR, but her low-cooldown area skill and a specific crit-boosting partner let her match the damage of much rarer carries in both adventure stages and the Arena.

Quick answer: Promote Rye Cookie to 5 stars, pair her with Orange Cookie for the Rapid Fire and crit buff, run Attack %, Crit %, Crit Damage, and Skill Amp on her Sugar Runes, and equip the Floral Froglet pet. That combination pushes her skill to roughly 600% damage every 4 seconds.

Why the 5-star breakpoint matters

Rye Cookie’s skill, “Showdown Time,” fires a burst of shots at enemies in front of her and comes back off cooldown every 4 seconds. That short cooldown is the core of her damage, because she repeats the burst far more often than most heavy hitters.

The jump to 5 stars adds two more shots to each cast. At base she throws four shots, and at 5 stars she throws six. Stacking six hits into a 4-second window is what turns her into a real carry rather than a filler unit, landing around 600% of her attack every rotation.

Orange Cookie is what makes Rye’s numbers hold up against SSR carries. Her “Juicy Smash” buff supplies the Multistrike, also called Rapid Fire, synergy that raises Rye’s shot count, and it delivers a 42% crit rate increase with close to 100% uptime.

Without that crit buff, Rye’s per-shot damage stays low and her rotations feel flat. With it, nearly every shot crits, and the six-shot burst scales properly. Treat Orange Cookie as part of the package rather than an optional add-on.

Sugar Runes to prioritize

Rye Cookie wants stats that multiply her burst. Four stats do the heavy lifting, and they line up cleanly with the crit-focused nature of her kit.

  • Attack % — raises the base value every shot scales from.
  • Crit % — stacks with Orange Cookie’s 42% buff so shots crit consistently.
  • Crit Damage — increases the size of each crit.
  • Skill Amp — boosts Showdown Time directly, which is where most of her damage lives.

Pet and team pairings

The Floral Froglet is the pet to equip on Rye. Its Companion Effect grants Fire Ally Crit Damage +22%, which feeds directly into her crit-heavy output since she is a Fire cookie.

For single-target and boss fights, Scorpion Cookie is the standout partner. Rye handles the repeated area bursts while Scorpion concentrates damage onto one target, so the pair covers both wave clearing and elite kills.

In the Arena, Rye shows up on meta lineups alongside Milky Way Cookie and Wind Archer Cookie. If you do not own Wind Archer Cookie, Rye Cookie is the standard swap into that carry slot, which is a large part of why building her is worth the resources.

Tip: Because Orange Cookie provides the Synergy and Rye handles the damage, you can slot both into a poison-focused core for tougher single-boss stages without giving up the crew’s buffs and debuffs.

Rye is a strong pick for low-spending and free-to-play accounts, since an SR unit is far easier to pull and promote to 5 stars than an SSR or TSSR carry. She rewards the same crit-and-skill investment you would put into a premium DPS, and she keeps pace in both PvE waves and PvP bursts once Orange Cookie and the Floral Froglet are in place. You can grab the game from the Google Play listing if you still need to install it and start building her roster.
