Your clan is one of the biggest permanent decisions in Ryujin. It sets passive stat bonuses, unlocks unique modes and skills, and shapes how fast you progress. Mythic and Legendary clans carry both early farming and endgame fights, while lower rarities mostly speed up cash or stat grinding before you find something stronger.
Quick answer: Reroll toward Hanma, Tokita, or Mikazuchi (all Mythic). If those are out of reach, Kure, Park, Seong, and Jang are the strongest realistic targets.
Ryujin clan tier list
Clans are grouped by overall strength for both PvP and progression. Within each tier, higher-rarity clans generally give the better raw bonuses.
| Tier | Clans |
|---|---|
| S | Hanma, Tokita, Mikazuchi, Kure, Park, Seong, Jang |
| A | Sta, Choi, Haruo, Wongsawat, Yamazaki |
| B | Biscuit, Hammer, Sano, Morow, Takeru, Hanayama, Akezawa |
| C | Zenin, Doyle, Alai, Lee, Gizenga, Toba, Hanada, Reinhold |
| D | Che, Soo, Kouhei, Atsushi, Sekibayashi, Akatsuka, Yamashita, Tatsumi |
Note: Clans not listed here are either weak or only work inside a very specific build. If you already have a niche setup, a few unlisted Legendaries and Evolved clans can still perform, but they are not general-purpose picks.

The three strongest clans each solve a different core problem, which is why they sit above everything else.
| Clan | What makes it strong |
|---|---|
| Hanma (Mythic) | Muscle gain keeps stamina and fatigue under control, so you run out of actions far less often. Demon Back mode delivers an AOE stun and a skill-disable that can reach 20 seconds with the card, and the Total Violence style stacks damage amplification, bleed, and debuffs. It covers offense and defense at once. |
| Tokita (Mythic) | The best progression Mythic. Locked-in stat farming runs twice as fast on top of the standard 20% Mythic stat gain. Advance is one of the top modes in the game, though it takes a hard grind to reach. Niko is useful in PvP but lacks a percent damage boost. |
| Mikazuchi (Mythic) | The fastest clan. Shorter dash cooldowns, cheaper stamina on dashes, and the Raishin style’s rapid M1s and damage-over-time make it excellent for PvP and strength grinding alike. Its mode is slightly weaker than the top two, but the speed keeps it in the top tier. |
Strong alternatives worth keeping
If the top Mythics don’t roll, these clans are still excellent and can carry you to the endgame.
| Clan | Rarity | Key effects |
|---|---|---|
| Kure | Mythic | Recovers 0.5% hunger on hit and 25% more from meaty food, cutting the food and money grind. +20% stats gained, +15% strength scaling, +10% durability scaling. Learns Kure’s Traditions and Removal, both meta picks for the Avidya combo extension. |
| Park | Mythic | Copies up to 2 skills that deal more damage, 10% shorter cooldowns, +20% stats gained, +25% Battle Sense gain, and a 25% larger Perfect Block window. Learns Ultra Instinct. Pairs well with Yamazaki for defensive buffs. |
| Seong | Legendary | Auto-copies a skill at the cost of eyesight, plus a 10% chance to take no damage on a hit. Learns Infinity Tech, which caps copy blindness at 50%. |
| Jang | Legendary | At 10% HP you heal to 25% and stun nearby enemies, opening a combo window. Learns Animal Instinct for heavy bleed damage. Held back only by the low-HP trigger. |
| Sta | Legendary | The best progression Legendary. +15% stats gained, +5% strike speed, +10% run speed, and +20% subskill effectiveness. Mainly used to farm toward a higher-tier clan. |
| Choi | Legendary | Captures districts twice as fast and, above SSS+ Potential, boosts gang money, damage, and speed. Meta for gang play, skip if you go solo. |
Early-game clans for fast progression
Lower-rarity clans won’t win late fights, but several speed up the early grind enough to be worth holding until something better rolls. Cash farming drives most of your early progress, so money-boost clans pull real weight at the start.
| Clan | Rarity | Early use |
|---|---|---|
| Biscuit | Rare | +15% muscle gain and +10% muscle scaling damage. More stamina, less fatigue, more actions per fight. |
| Hammer | Rare | Slows fatigue gain by 50% for longer farming sessions. Bite adds an early bleed proc. |
| Sano | Rare | +15% gang money from districts and +10% kick damage. Great in a gang, poor solo. |
| Akezawa / Yamashita / Soo | Uncommon / Common / Uncommon | Boost job or overall money gain, which fuels most early upgrades. Solid stopgaps until an upgrade rolls. |
| Zenin | Uncommon | +5% stats gained for a small early grind boost. Replace it as soon as you can. |
How to check and reroll your clan
Clans are assigned at random when you create a character and follow set odds: Mythic 1%, Legendary 5%, Rare 14%, Uncommon 20%, and Common 60%. Because of that, reaching an S-tier clan means rerolling.
This ranking reflects the state of Ryujin as of August 2026 and weighs each clan on PvP performance, PvE and boss utility, and how much it speeds up progression. Aim your rerolls at the S-tier Mythics first, lean on Sta or a cash clan to farm coins in the meantime, and only settle on a lower-rarity clan when you’re out of rerolls.
