Ancient Fragments are the golden, key-shaped items you need to begin the Lost Fragments quest and eventually unlock Sea 2 in Sailor Piece. They spawn at fixed points across roughly a dozen islands, but only a couple appear in the world at any given moment, and each one disappears after a short window if nobody grabs it.

How Ancient Fragment spawns work
Fragments appear at preset spots scattered across multiple islands, but the game randomly picks which ones are active. That means you cannot camp a single location reliably, so the efficient approach is to cycle between islands using the map portals and sweep each known spawn.
Two behaviors matter most: spawn cadence and despawn timer. Reports on the exact respawn interval vary between roughly 90 seconds and several minutes, but the despawn window is consistent at 5 minutes per fragment. If you see one, grab it immediately, otherwise it will vanish before you can come back.
Each fragment looks like a small golden key with an ornate, flower-shaped bow. You only need two total to advance the quest, even though there are around 20 possible locations.

Starting the Lost Fragments quest
Step 1: Teleport to World Island, which acts as the gateway between seas in Sailor Piece.
Step 2: Speak with the Sea Traveler NPC. Interacting accepts the Lost Fragments quest and enables fragment pickups.

Step 3: Travel to any of the islands listed below and check the spawn points. Collect two fragments to complete this step of the Sea 2 questline.
All Ancient Fragment spawn locations
Below are the known spawn points grouped by island. Most islands have two possible locations, and a fragment can appear at any of them when the game rolls its spawn table.
| Island | Spawn point |
|---|---|
| Starter Island | On top of a rock on the left side of the island, right next to the sea |
| Sailor Island | On the middle section of the windmill roof |
| Desert Island | On top of the tall building behind the merchant |
| Desert Island | On a smaller building next to the tallest tower |
| Snow Island | Inside the cabin behind the mob spawns |
| Shibuya Station | On the side of the Cursed King boss building |
| Shibuya Station | On top of the brown building across from it |
| Hollow Island | Inside a broken building near spawn, close to the smaller huts |
| Hollow Island | On top of a large dead tree next to the big chimney on the right |
| Shinjuku Island | On top of the fully tilted building |
| Shinjuku Island | On top of the tall, slightly tilted building |
| Slime Island | On the balcony of the house near the key crafter |
| Slime Island | Behind the colosseum, on the ground near the water |
| Academy Island | On top of the wall above the watchtower section |
| Academy Island | On top of the academy building, to the left of the NPC |
| Judgment Island | On top of the mountain to the right of the teleport |
| Judgment Island | On the back mountain behind the ice shards |
| Ninja Island | On top of a dead tree to the right of the spawn save crystal |
| Lawless Island | Behind the boss tower |
| Lawless Island | On a small wall next to the water inside the island |

Fastest way to farm two fragments
Since only two fragments are active at once, raw coverage beats careful searching. Open the map, portal into an island, run both of its spawn points, and immediately hop to the next island if nothing is there. The golden key model is bright and easy to spot against most backgrounds, so a quick pass usually tells you if it is present.
Islands with clustered spawn points, such as Desert Island, Shibuya Station, Shinjuku Island, Slime Island, Academy Island, Judgment Island, and Lawless Island, are the most efficient to sweep because you can check both possible spots in one short detour. Starter Island, Sailor Island, Snow Island, and Ninja Island each have a single spot, so treat them as quick stops along the way.

How you know it worked
Picking up a fragment adds it to your quest progress under the Lost Fragments objective given by the Sea Traveler. Once the counter reaches 2/2, return to World Island and hand them in to continue the Sea 2 questline, which then moves on to collecting map pieces from specific bosses.
If fragments do not appear in your inventory or quest log after pickup, the most common reason is that the quest was never accepted from the Sea Traveler NPC. Without that step, fragments in the world will not register as progress.
