Artifacts are equippable gear pieces in Sailor Piece that stack damage, critical chance, critical damage, health, lifesteal, and defense onto your character. They drop from regular mobs, mini-bosses, and world bosses, but only after you turn the system on. Each artifact belongs to a set, and wearing matching pieces unlocks bonus stats that scale your build well into late-game content.

Quick answer: Reach Level 2,500, then bring 500,000 Cash and 500 Gems to the Artifacts NPC on Snow Island and pay to enable drops. After that, every mob, mini-boss, and world boss can drop artifacts, which you upgrade to Level 15 using Dust earned by deleting unwanted pieces.

How to unlock Artifacts in Sailor Piece

Artifact drops are switched off by default. Hitting Level 2,500 alone does nothing. You must travel to the Artifacts NPC and pay the activation cost before a single piece will appear.

Reach Level 2,500. This is the hard requirement that gates the entire system, so you cannot interact meaningfully with the NPC before it.
Gather 500,000 Cash and 500 Gems. You can top these up through boss farming, daily quests, or redeeming current Sailor Piece codes if you are short.
Use any portal to travel to Snow Island. Walk toward the igloos and pass the small cluster of trees to find the Artifacts NPC and the Artifact Milestones NPC standing side by side.
Approach the Artifacts NPC and press E to interact. Pay the 500,000 Cash and 500 Gems to confirm.

Once you pay, the Artifacts tab opens in your inventory and drops begin immediately. You will know it worked when enemies start dropping artifact pieces and the Artifacts menu becomes accessible from your inventory. If drops still are not appearing, it almost always means the activation was never confirmed, since reaching the level alone does not start them.

All artifact sets and where to farm them

Every set contains four pieces, which are the Helmet, Gloves, Body, and Boots. World bosses can drop any set at a small rate, but the most consistent way to complete a set is farming the islands tied to it. The newest addition, Sacred Dominion, arrived with the Huge update following the Sea 2 expansion and drops from Sea 2 islands.

How artifact stats and set bonuses work

Each piece gives one Main Stat and one Sub Stat. The Main Stat is fixed per slot, while the Sub Stat is pulled from a shared pool. A Main Stat can never repeat as a Sub Stat on the same piece, so Boots that roll Damage as the Main Stat will not also roll Damage as a Sub Stat.

SlotMain Stat options
HelmetDefense or Flat Defense
GlovesDamage
BodyAny stat, including HP and Lifesteal
BootsDamage, Defense, Flat Defense, or Damage Reduction

The Body slot is the most flexible since its Main Stat can roll as anything, so it is worth holding out for a high-rarity Body piece that matches your build. The Sub Stat pool covers Crit Chance, Crit Damage, Damage, Defense, Flat Defense, Damage Reduction, Lifesteal, and HP Regen. Rarity controls the values, with Common pieces giving the lowest numbers and Legendary the highest.

Sub StatMax range
Crit Chance6% – 10.5%
Crit Damage11% – 18%
Damage4% – 9%
Defense8% – 15%
Flat Defense20,000 – 50,000
Damage Reduction2% – 4%
Lifesteal0.5% – 1.5%
HP Regen7.5% – 15%

Set effects sit on top of individual stats. Equipping two pieces from the same set triggers the 2-piece bonus, and all four pieces unlocks the full 4-piece bonus. You can also run two pieces from two different sets, a hybrid build, to stack two separate 2-piece bonuses toward the stats you care about.

Artifacts explained in Sailor Piece

Best artifact sets for damage and survivability

For pure damage, Abyssal Crown is the strongest current pick because its bonuses lean heavily into crit damage and raw damage. Sacred Dominion is the other top-tier option, favoring extra HP and damage, which suits players who already pull enough lifesteal from a race, clan, or bloodline. Celestial Rupture remains the most versatile set, mixing damage, crit damage, crit chance, and a touch of lifesteal for both PvP and grinding.

Set2-piece bonus4-piece bonus
Abyssal Crown+1% lifesteal, +20% crit damage+12.5% crit chance, +20% damage
Sacred Dominion+15% HP, +20% damage+22.5% crit damage, +15% crit chance
Celestial Rupture+15% damage, +12.5% crit damage+15% crit chance, +1.5% lifesteal
Void Reaver+6.5% damage, +1% lifesteal+12.5% crit chance, +15% crit damage
Black Horizon+7.5% damage, +5% HP+10% crit chance, +20% crit damage
Crownless Regalia+12% HP, +5% damage reduction+10% crit chance, +15% damage
Ashen Chronicles+5% damage, +15% crit damage+7.5% damage reduction, +15% HP

If you are still early or mid-game working through Sea 1 islands, Void Reaver and Black Horizon are the practical targets. Void Reaver edges ahead slightly thanks to its +1% lifesteal, which helps when farming bosses. Whatever you chase, prioritize pieces that roll Crit Chance, then Damage, then Crit Damage.

How to upgrade artifacts and farm Dust

Every artifact can be upgraded up to Level 15, and it takes 287 Dust to take one piece from Level 0 to max. Each upgrade adds or improves stats, so this is where a good piece turns into a build-defining one. Gearing four pieces to Level 15 at once requires 1,148 Dust, so steady farming and selling is the real bottleneck.

Open the Artifacts menu from your inventory and click the piece you want to level.
Click the blue Upgrade button next to the Equip button to open the upgrade pop-up.
Press the + sign to add Dust, then confirm the upgrade. You can level one artifact at a time or batch-upgrade up to 50 pieces at once if you have enough Dust banked.

Dust comes only from deleting artifacts you do not need, such as low-rarity pieces and duplicates with bad rolls. Select the unwanted piece, click the trash icon next to the equip option, and confirm. Legendary artifacts give the most Dust, 24 per piece, when deleted.

To clear inventory fast, use the Mass Options trash button to delete in bulk, or set Auto Delete to scrap a chosen rarity automatically while you farm. Dust is non-tradeable and does not appear in your normal inventory, so check your total inside the Artifact Upgrade menu. Selling a fully upgraded piece refunds 33.8% of the Dust spent, which works out to about 96 Dust back on a maxed Legendary, so you can recycle when something better drops.

Artifact Milestones and higher-rarity drops

When you first unlock the system, roughly 90% of drops are Common. The Artifact Milestones system is what shifts those odds toward Epic and Legendary. Every artifact you obtain grants 1 milestone point, and crucially, pieces you delete still count, so high-volume farming feeds the system either way.

The Artifact Milestones NPC stands right next to the Artifacts NPC on Snow Island. Interact with it to open the progress menu, which runs from Level 0 up to a current cap of 40. Each level raised increases the chance of higher-rarity drops, so low milestones mean mostly Commons while maxed milestones produce Legendaries far more often.

Milestone levels also pay out rewards as you cross them. Click each completed level to claim free clan rerolls, race rerolls, trait rerolls, Haki color rerolls, and other exclusive benefits. Check back every few hundred artifacts to collect what you have earned.

Artifacts rewards

The most efficient loop is to farm a set’s dedicated island, auto-delete anything below your target rarity for Dust, push milestone levels for better drops, then funnel that Dust into your best-rolled pieces. Pair a strong crit-focused set like Abyssal Crown or Sacred Dominion with the right race and clan, and your damage and survivability climb fast enough to handle Sea 2 bosses and PvP.
